A Study in Contrast: Heartfelt apology vs “EXTORTION!” NH State Rep Jan Schmidt does not disappoint

On one hand we have someone that returned to offer a heartfelt apology; it wasn’t asked for, nor sought out.  And it was offered to those directly affected. It didn’t have to be offered – but it was.  Nothing was asked for in return – it was a gracious exchange.

And on the other hand, we have NH State Representative Jan Schmidt. That image above is what Jan Schmidt posted on her Facebook page when I refused to bow to her demand. And yes, she DEMANDED something.  And no, I don’t believe her lawyer will be impressed – he knows but I don’t think that she understands what Discovery is. At all.

One showed graciousness and humility. All that Jan Schmidt has done is shown a high disdain for other peoples’s rules about their stuff and when told to follow them, she refused.  Then twists things and victimized herself and calls my S.O.P. “Extortion”.  Seriously – I told her what my rules were for what she wanted, she refuses to give answers – and now I’m an extortionist.  Just like that!  Snap!

No small talk, no chit chat – and no politeness or manners offered.  And we’ll show you why – it is in our FAQs that any email coming to us is liable to be posted – NH State Rep Jan Schmidt even failed to do that amount of homework.

So, let us begin.  Inbound was this:

No small talk, no chit chat – and “hi, how are you….how are things”.  You know, the normal giving of pleasantries, politeness or manners when starting a conversation. Just a demand. Like I exist solely to carry out her orders?  Like I know what her daughter looks like?  Like I would, out of over 34,000 posts on GraniteGrok, I’d know immediately where to turn?

No, that’s not how it works.  That’s not how any of this works.  So I told her how the process would work (emphasis mine):

NH State Representative Jan Schmidt,

Are you using your official position as a State Representative in making this demand of us?

Unless I know which of the 34,000 posts it is in, you will have to send the URL of the post containing the image.  That is my standard operating process.  You also have to give me a legitimate reason (e.g., NH RSA) why it should be taken down and explain in detail.  I will then research the post and make a decision. You will be informed at that time.

Frankly, I don’t trust you at all given that you LIED that we were the reason why the Merrimack Police were giving police protection to the female NH House delegation of Merrimack.  Our RSA 91-A demand to them had a result that they completely denied your statement.  We have been open and transparent about that incident – you aren’t.

Thus, you will have to prove, like all others that have made similar requests / demands, that it is warranted.

I await your response.

And then she started in.  But that will be for the next post. Betcha you can guess what she did with my S.O.P. questions!
