Hate Speech Doesn’t Exist

I’ve been saying this for a very long time. There is no such thing as Hate Speech. Just ask a unanimous US Supreme Court. It is a made-up thing designed to intimidate people into silence. And it violates the first amendment.

Anthony Kennedy wrote,

A law found to discriminate based on viewpoint is an “egregious form of content discrimination,” which is “presumptively unconstitutional.”  …

The Government may not insulate a law from charges of viewpoint discrimination by tying censorship to the reaction of the speaker’s audience.

Put another way, the First Amendment does not care if you are offended, nor can the government or the judicial system. The speech is protected.

And Prager U does us a service by explaining the issue and the reality.
