Petty criminals of the world take note. Starbucks Baristas might be making your job easier by sending the message that the police are not welcome in their stores. Dunkin’ Donuts, this might be a great time to show your support for local PDs.

Police enjoying a cup of coffee were kicked out of a Starbucks coffee shop in Tempe, Arizona on the Fourth of July.

Why?  Because a customer complained they “did not feel safe” with the cops present, according to reports.

The five officers were sipping coffee at the Starbucks before their shift started.  That’s when a barista asked them to move out of the complaining customer’s line of sight or else leave.

Starbucks shut down its entire operation for a day back in 2018 to preach anti-police propaganda to their employees. I can only think that this is the result of that. After all, who among us would just walk up to five uniformed police officers and tell them this without having some warped sense of identity politics purpose?

Not to mention bad business sense.

One paying customer crank versus five paying customers who happen to be having coffee before their day begins in uniform.

Law Enforcement Today has this story, some reactions, and some details about the re-education class-day.

Starbucks is apologizing but leveraged against the details of the sensitivity training class, it sounds like PR BS to me.

In the training that happened during that national day of shut down, baristas were given a 68-page guide where they were asked to respond to writing prompts with various scenarios.

“It felt like we were off task the entire time because we didn’t reflect on the situation itself,” said one Barista, referring to the incident involving the two people arrested for trespassing. “The training materials focused a lot on police brutality, which had nothing to do with the incident that happened.”

Philadelphia police were called after two black men who would not purchase anything refused to leave a Starbucks.

As a result, the Philadelphia police commissioner issued an apology to the men.  Then Starbucks closed some 8,000 locations for a business day to conduct “racial bias training”.

Occupational bias training, you mean.

There are a few Dunkin’ Donuts around Phoenix, Tempe, and the surrounding areas. The coffee is better too.
