Was This Racist, Inclusive Excellence, Or Cultural Appropriation?

I took my lovely wife out to eat for Mother’s Day. At the restaurant of her choice, I selected a dish that included African Salmon. It was quite delicious, but now I have a question.

Was eating African Salmon evidence of some identity politics faux pas or a positive embrace?

I realize the animal-rights/enviro-Nazis will declare it an international crime against the planet, but even some on the left think those folks are out on a lake with no paddles. So, how do we classify my tasty meal in the context of modern liberalism?

Is it inclusive? By eating African salmon have employed Africans in honest labor, or – depending on the Leftist – abetted exploitative labor practices?

Was it racist? African salmon, and all that.

Or, am I guilty of cultural appropriation? I’m not African, and I don’t fish (anymore).

It is possible that I might be a racist cultural appropriator, but any conclusion has no bearing on anything other than who ate the fish.

Just as gay, black, or female Republicans are sell-outs subject to all the abuses the left can hurl, the answer would be different for a devout follower of the State Religion of Democrat Socialism who honors all its idols and sacred holidays would receive a pass.

As a white, conservative, Christian, heterosexual male, of European descent, (who thinks lowering taxes is patriotic) there’s not a thing I can do that is not either racist, sexist, or cultural appropriation. And the Left would likewise view any act of inclusion as an admission of guilt.

(For those who think they’ve got an in or are in hiding from the Left’s Cultural Stasi, it’s only a matter of time before you are found out and the come after you.)

So, the correct answer to the question is I don’t give a **** what they think because the issue is not debatable, and no sane person would play by their rules.

To quote Jason from the movie War Games, The only winning move is not to play.

Sadly, doing that, means they win. They won’t give up, so we must play. We have to defend liberty, free speech, religious liberty, property rights, and the Constitutional Republic or they’ll pull it out from under us.

So, yes, it was delicious, and I enjoyed it. If that stresses you out, good. If the idea of people getting stressed out by that (or any of that nonsense), stresses you out – and it should – you can do something about it. Don’t let them win.
