The New Hampshire House is where Democrat Lou D’Allesnadro’s Casino Bill’s often go to die. But they don’t always die in committee. And not like this.

No matter which party holds the majority Casino bills are a tough sell in the Granite State. According to Casino.org Senator Lou D’Allesandro,

“…vowed his 20th consecutive failed casino bill would be his last. It wasn’t, but he tabled his 21st earlier this month rather than face defeat at the hands of his colleagues in the Senate.

But since then, he was able to convince the Senate to rethink the issue and to give his plan a shot in the House, which this week proved itself to be in a mood to pass gambling expansion bills when it approved a measure to authorize sports betting.”

Sports betting is not Casinos.

Lou’s latest effort, his 21st, crawled out of the State Senate with a vote of 13-11. The House didn’t blink. The committee vote was 17-2 to kill the bill, which will now go to the House floor as inexpedient to legislate. A majority yes vote will bury 21 alongside the 20 that preceded it.

Lou’s got perseverance and a lot of campaign donations form Casino operators. But when it comes to the Granite State and a state-run casino monopoly neither party is interested, and they haven’t been since last century.

Lou needs to hang this one up. He’s just wasting people’s time and the gaming industry lobbyists money.
