NH Democrats: Selling You a Bridge That Doesn’t Exist On a Payment Plan That Never Ends

NH tax taxes Democrat taxes

The narrative New Hampshire’s Democrats are selling is that they want to lower your “property taxes.” They will do this, they claim, while raising more revenue; by creating a new income tax. But once you buy that bridge, you can’t get a refund.

No, you never own the bridge. Yes, there is a payment plan that never ends, and it never goes down. And by the way, there’s no bridge either.

The thing about Democrats and taxes is that they are inseparable from Democrats and spending. They will spend to get new taxes. What they won’t do is lower taxes so they will have more to spend. And therein lies the only real truth. This isn’t about more money for ‘x’ or ‘y.’ It is about keeping you, as much as possible, from being able to buy ‘a’ – ‘w’ (x, y or z) without a by-your-leave from your betters in government.

It’s About Control

Every excuse is a false flag operation. The goal is to redistribute wealth and power from individuals to the government. The State will then ensure it lands in the hands of political partners, Democrat donors, or to buy votes through entitlements which including state-employee contracts by the way.

Their most recent scam in New Hampshire is centered on Education. As if money has ever improved public-school outcomes. It hasn’t. Ever. And no amount of spending will improve the abysmal product of public education. But that was never and is not the point.

Schools are a laundromat for tax dollars no different than Planned Parenthood, or other public employees. They are a means to a political end.

Spending never goes down so neither can taxes

Republicans have this crazy thing they sometimes do. They just did it. They cut taxes. Every time they do it tax revenue rises. It happens because the incidence of taxable transactions rises. Encouraged to keep more of the money they legally earned, there is more investment, commerce expands, employment grows, and tax revenues increase.

This change should, though it rarely if ever does, incite a rebellious legislature to reduce other taxes. Find ways to let the market address things government may have wrongly assumed. Return control to the people.

Republicans may ponder it, but it never occurs to Democrats. Their first impulse is to spend it all and spend some more. So, no, your property taxes will not go down at all, or if they do dip, they won’t stay down. In the end, the tax burden always rises.

More spending is why. The goal is to redistribute power. And there is no limit to the amount of your money they will spend to finance that goal. At least until the end when there is no more money to take.

Et Tu Business taxes?

And while the Left is grinding the Business tax ax in the Granite State understand that taking it from your employer is no different than taking it from you.

New Hampshire cut business taxes and what happened. Record employment. Record labor force participation. Rising business tax revenue. The Granite State is becoming the economic power-house of New England.

Overtaxed job creators will hire fewer people. There is less money for new equipment, services, investment, or expansion. They may have to pay fewer employees less or offer smaller raises, less frequently. Provide fewer benefits.

Sadly, these are all things Democrats want

If your employer cannot provide it (because Democrats taxed them out of that market), it opens up an opportunity for another state intrusion into your life. Health care is a recent and recurring example. The state meddled, made it complicated and unaffordable, blamed everyone but themselves, then declared it would seize the market to fix the problems it created.

The mortgage collapse was no different.

Everything Democrats do is about control.

If you don’t believe New Hampshire Democrats want the government to run everything look at the Left’s priorities this legisaltive session.

Every bill they support takes money or decision-making from private citizens or job creators and gives it to bureaucrats or the state.

Every bill they oppose would have given money or decision making back to job creators or private citizens.

Democrats don’t care about education any more than they care about women or healthcare or children. These are just props to pursue power.  And if the people don’t realize it, they’ll succeed.
