Carter Page Sues DNC for Defamation over Fake Dossier

Carter page has been put through the ringer. He was spied on, interrogated, all while being pilloried relentlessly by the media, based entirely on claims made in a piece of ginned-up political opposition research paid for by the DNC and Hillary Clinton Campaign through the law firm of Perkins Coie.

The Trump dossier details leaked to the press by the FBI were then used by the FBI as proof to get FISA warrants approved. Carter Page is not the only victim of this scheme, but he’s had enough. He has filed a defamation lawsuit against both the DNC and Perkins Coie.

Former Trump campaign associate Carter Page filed a defamation lawsuit Monday against the Democratic National Committee and its law firm, which commissioned the infamous Steele dossier.

Page filed the suit in federal court in Oklahoma against the DNC, the law firm, Perkins Coie, and two of its partners, Marc Elias and Michael Sussmann.

Perkins Coie, which also represented the Hillary Clinton campaign, is the firm that hired Fusion GPS, the opposition researcher that investigated Donald Trump’s links to Russia.

I would not be surprised to find that the DNC and Perkins Coie want to settle this quietly out of court. Discovery could produce some very messy details they’d rather not have public.

That’s if Carter Page doesn’t find himself dead in his bathtub the victim of another botched “burglary.”
