The National Football League and a handful of player advocates have compromised to reach what they believe is workable consensus 90 million dollars over seven years. A mere pittance when compared to league Commissioner Roger Goodell’s salary. (Between 2008 and 2015 Goodell was paid more than $205 million).
“Our partnership is designed to equip athletes as influencers and community leaders with the mechanics to develop their advocacy platform.”
“The program at Moorehouse is one of the first social justice efforts formally funded by the NFL after a group of players urged the league to divert money from other programs such as breast cancer awareness and aide to military families and to redirect the cash to social justice causes.” www.breitbart.com/sports/2017/12/18/nfl-funding-social-justice…”
I can envision the invasion of NFL Stadium parking lots everywhere. Pussy hats and nasty women shirts parading in and out of tailgate revelers.
This is the same NFL that threw the military under the bus by refusing to publish a “#please stand” ad in the Super Bowl souvenir booklet.
And now the second amendment is on the NFL radar. Bobby Kraft flew Parkland High School students in his jet to rail against the second amendment and National Rifle Association members.
Ignorance is bliss!
Then there’s this. Back in October, tax documents revealed by a conservative watchdog group showed how the NFLPA liberally (figuratively and literally) distributed funds to groups associated with George Soros.”
From that report, we learned, “In 2013 and 2015, the NFLPA also contributed to the AFL-CIO’s community affiliate, Working America. This group, according to Open Secrets, contributed $1 million to defeat President Trump during the 2016 election. However, the group’s anti-Trump activities were not limited to the election. According to the Washington Times, ‘“Working America has since mobilized against the Republican tax-cut framework, denouncing it as the ‘Trump tax scam.’”
The NFL has a problem. They hate President Trump. But rather than lament his presidency and refuse to demonstrate tolerance for conservative opinion, the NFL should attend to the business of the NFL.
The NFL is entertainment pure and simple to be enjoyed by all fans. Allowing players to use their status to promote rejection of our countries traditions and rights (2nd amendment) only breeds contempt; directed towards the President Trump’s supporters. Not that it matters. Concern or remedy for aggrieved NFL fans was never an issue of discussion!
