Dogs and Guns and Democrats…Oh My!

People who are unfamiliar with dogs or have never owned one, are more likely to be intimidated or even afraid of them.   While people who are familiar with dogs, grew up with them or own a dog, understand them, know how to read their signals, and have the sense to have some respect for what they are capable of, particularly when they meet one they are not familiar with.

Guns are the same way.  People who are unfamiliar or who have never handled or owned a gun are intimidated,  wary, even frightened of them.  While lawful gun owners, hunters, sport shooters, and  folks who feel the need to own a gun for self defense are more likely to understand them, and have the sense to have some respect for what any gun is capable of particularly when they are introduced to one they are not familiar with.

Smart people apply this basic maxim to almost everything in life, observing with various degrees of respect–relevant to their  knowledge, and properly defined as prejudice–all the things they find in the world.  Where they see holes in that knowledge they try to fill them, be it about guns, dogs,  strangers, or anything, even seeking or sharing that knowledge to aid others in a quest to educate and enlighten.

Democrats, on the other hand, feed that ignorance to advance their political agenda and their naked pursuit of power.

When confronted with contrary information they deny it, ignore it, quote anyone who agrees with them-labeling them an expert–or just place their fingers in their ears and yell until the offending facts are frightened away.  And they use every resource at their disposal to confuse and scare people to aid them in whatever power-play they are making.

Smart people.  People who can work things out on their own, without them, without government, are a danger to the political goals of the Democrat party.  Democrats paint these ‘threats’ as stupid, backwards, or evil–even sending the government after them to send a message to them, or anyone else, that speech is a selective right and they will use any resource at their disposal to not just object but to silence ideas that oppose their own.

What is truly ironic about that, is that this is the very thing you will hear from the secular humanist left about its hatred for organized religions.  The church kept people ignorant and scared them to retain power.

History does repeat itself.  The new religion is modern liberalism.  And its shepherds will do anything to retain power.
