Lynch Veto of Parental Notification Overriden! (and other good news)

by

The New Hampshire House and Senate have just overridden New Hampshire Governor John Lynches veto of the parental notification bill.  In the House the vote was 266 to 102 and in the Senate 17-7

A Planned Parenthood lawsuit is expected any moment.

In other good news the State budget was also passed by veto proof majorities in both houses.  It cuts state spending by 12% does not raise any new taxes and creates no new debt.  Mr. Lynch will need to decide if he wants to bend yet again to inter-party pressure and the angry phone calls of donors and veto this, knowing an override is almost guarantted.

And if you need one more bit of good news,  it looks like the New Hampshire executive council has just rejected a 1.8 million dollar contract with Planned Parenthood.

St. Hilaire said the Planned Parenthood contract differed in that the organization directly provides abortions, it’s CEO earns in excess of $250,000 a year, and most of its services and administration are located out of state in Williston, Vt.

Not a bad day so far.
