SPECIAL ALERT!
It came to our attention over the weekend that there are three important liberty bills in committee this week. Republican legislators are working hard for our liberty—we ask your support for these bills.
Labor Committee (email the committee)
HB326 (SEE BELOW): Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 3:00PM | PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD in Room 307, Legislative Office Building (behind the State Capitol building) on HB326 (see below)
HB747 (SEE BELOW): Thursday, Feb. 3 at 10:30AM | PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD in Representatives Hall in the State Capitol Building on HB747 (see below)
HB326 eliminates the Evergreen Clause, which is a clause that requires the automatic continuation of public employee collective bargaining agreements. The Evergreen Clause is a blow to limited government because it gives public employee unions an advantage when it comes to collective bargaining agreements—there is no reason for them to come to the table to renegotiate if their agreement continues in perpetuity. Because unions usually "pack" hearings of this type, WE NEED LIBERTY ACTIVISTS THERE TO SUPPORT THE BILL AND TESTIFY IN FAVOR OF IT!
HB747 is a Right to Work law that will end forced unionism in New Hampshire, freeing individual workers from being forced to pay union dues or fees just to keep a job. Right to Work states also enjoyed six times higher job growth than New Hampshire over the last ten years. Because unions usually "pack" hearings of this type, WE NEED LIBERTY ACTIVISTS THERE TO SUPPORT THE BILL AND TESTIFY IN FAVOR OF IT!
Commerce Committee (email the committee)
HS241 HEARING (SEE BELOW): Thursday, Feb. 3 at 2:15PM | Room 302, Legislative Office Building (behind the State Capitol building) on HB241 (see below)
HB241 will allow free market health insurance in New Hampshire, saving the people of New Hampshire a minimum of $100M a year. It allows consumers and insurance carriers to contract on mutually agreeable terms not subject to the regulation of the insurance commissioner, insurance mandates, or administrative consumer protection law. It would, however, remain subject to criminal fraud prosecution and civil lawsuits.
Criminal Justice Committee (email the committee)
VOTE ONLY BEING HELD (see below): On Thursday, Feb. 3, the Criminal Justice Committee will vote on HB145, which will permit the audio and video recording of any public official while in the course of his or her official duties. This bill is important to allow the people to be a check on government officials, including law enforcement, and to avoid abuse of power.
