The Nashua Telegraph went to a bit of trouble to post candidate financial reports, so even though I’d already reviewed a few myself I figured they deserved another look. One thing in particular stood out to me…
…Carol Shea Porter lists no savings or checking accounts, not for her, not for her spouse–whose income as an IRS employee is also a mystery.
I’m not saying it’s improper, even though she seems to have a chronic problem filing with the FEC, it just strikes me as odd.
Then we have her campaing going on about how Carol’s rather simple looking financials are that way because she is a member of the Middle class, you know, just like the rest of us.
Middle class indeed. She’ll have cleared about $700,000.00 as a House rep, plus her hubby’s mystery money from the IRS. Odds are good Carol’s family income puts her into the same income bracket as those rich bastards she keeps telling us we need to tax.
So where has she been hiding her money? No way to know. But it’s certainly not in a savings or checking account because according to her filings she has neither.
And hey, before I go, a few more things about the "Carol’s Middle Class like the rest of us" BS. I, nor anyone I know in any income class, has recently spent several trillion dollars worth of other peoples money, nor indebted the nation in the tens of trillions over the ensuing decade.
We’re not shifting the power of government farther and farther away from the people either. But we are kinda of pissed off about it.
Wait! I’ve got it! And it’s so refreshing. She must be approaching home finance the same way she approaches federal spending. She’s paying off her Visa with her Mastercard! (Either that or she’s printing money in her basement.)
