(TWS) Neil S. Rodgers, a former D.C. government official, was sentenced Tuesday for his role in the misappropriation of $110,000 earmarked for D.C.’s Children at Risk and Drug Prevention Fund to cover a deficit for the 51st State Inaugural Ball for President Obama’s inauguration in 2009. Rodgers, found guilty of fraud in March, was sentenced to 36 days (served on weekends) plus two years of probation. Rodgers must also repay the entire $110,000 as restitution for his crime.

Fetal Homicide Bill Dies in Committee of Conference

Most States have Fetal Homicide laws
Most States have Fetal Homicide laws

On, Thursday June 18, SB 40 died a natural death in the Sen. Carson-led Committee of Conference. Rather than to seriously entertain amendments brought to the table by Rep. Rideout which would mitigate the HORRIBLE language in SB 40 of “extrauterine survival”, the REPUBLICAN committee dashed the bill.

Rep. Leon Rideout and Rep. John Burt put up the good fight and stood firm against SB 40’s victimizing language.

Why did Obama’s FDA Ban Trans-Fats…

Once consumers heard about the risks associated with trans fats, they began avoiding them, and businesses consequently stopped using them as much. Between 1980 and 2009, Americans’ consumption of trans fats dropped around a third (as did our intake of saturated fats.) The FDA claims thattrans fat intake among American consumers has declined from 4.6 grams per day in 2003 to about 1 gram per day in 2012.”

Is The Left Using Refugee Resettlement To Erase America?

We’ll be interviewing author Jim Simpson on Saturday about his new book, RedGreen Axis – Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America. As a primer to that I attended and recorded a power-point overview on the book by the author.  Here is an excerpt from the Forward.  The video is below.

One of the most insidious aspects of the stealthy, subversive activities the Muslim Brotherhood calls “civilization jihad” is the collaborative partnership with the hard Left that enables it. We call this partnership the “red-green axis” – the conjoining of the socialist/communist radicals and the Islamic supremacists that has made the latter’s efforts in the West considerably more successful than would otherwise likely be the case.

In this extraordinary study, investigative reporter Jim Simpson… pulls back the curtain on a practice that has been going on for years with a view to, in President Obama’s words, “fundamentally transform” America.

Rachel Dolezal Resigned yesterday as president of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP. Liberals are the Aggressors in the Culture War

…I’ll say it again: Liberals are the aggressors in the culture war. The only shocking thing about that statement is that it ever shocks liberals. On their own terms, they take pride in being “change agents” and “forces of progress.” But the moment anyone attempts to defend themselves against the social-justice warriors, they are treated … Read more

Dances With Bureaucrats

bureaucracyNew Hampshire’s Senior Senator, Jeanne Shaheen speaks for every Congressional delegation, and most if not all Democrats in our state, when she talks about New Hampshire being a donor state. For those not versed, it means we give more tax dollars to the Federal Government than it gives back. The Democrats, with Shaheen in the lead, evoke this disparity as justification for whatever  legislative gymnastics may be required to correct the described injustice (created, ironically, by generations of like-minded, meddling, top-down, progressives like Jeanne Shaheen).

Is your State Transportation Budget Running on Fumes?

Is your state transportation budget running on fumes? That’s the colorful metaphor most commonly employed when budget writers gather to discuss money for roads and bridges. It elicits a mental picture of a vehicle sputtering to the side of the road, the fuel needle shivering near empty. We then shift to the lone traveler marching … Read more

STEPHEN E. FORSTER v. TOWN OF HENNIKER – Justice Hicks J., Dissents

courtgavel-tile

Stephen Forster has been prohibited from conducting weddings or similar events on his farm by  the Town of Henniker based on their interpretation of zoning limitations. The state court has decided in favor or the town.  Justice Hicks was the lone dissenter in the opinion.  People interested in protecting property rights and legislators looking to amend the law should read it.

The entire court decision can be found here.

HICKS, J., dissenting. It is abundantly clear that none of my four colleagues have spent a summer in East Colebrook, an area where weddings on farms are customary. Today, the majority holds that the trial court properly determined that hosting weddings and like events is not a permitted use in Henniker’s rural residential district. The majority offers two separate and independent rationales for its decision:

The Politics of Viability

Most States have Fetal Homicide laws
Most States have Fetal Homicide laws

On June 15, a Committee of Conference on SB 40 met at the NH State House.  This Committee met to look at Fetal Homicide bill, SB 40.  In a nutshell, the House recently passed HB 560 which offered families the ability to seek justice in the NH court system for a preborn (beginning at eight weeks) killed during a criminal act.  Abortion was specifically exempted in this bill.

Meanwhile, the NH State Senate passed SB 40 which contained the following “viability” requirement: “sustained extrauterine survival”.  Americans United for Life offered the following testimony at the SB 40 Senate hearing,
