I’m not going to waste time remarking on the Supreme Court’s King v. Burwell decisions except to say that the left’s rejoicing will end the  moment someone uses the gymnastics required to reach that decision to an end they do not either enjoy or embrace.

Besides, Justice Scalia already did the heavy lifting. Anything else would be inferior by comparison. Here’s a taste…(H/T The Federalist)

The somersaults of statutory interpretation they have performed (“penalty” means tax, “further [Medicaid] payments to the State” means only incremental Medicaid payments to the State, “established by the State” means not established by the State) will be cited by litigants endlessly, to the confusion of honest jurisprudence. And the cases will publish forever the discouraging truth that the Supreme Court of the United States favors some laws over others, and is prepared to do whatever it takes to uphold and assist its favorites.

Update II:  I received an email this morning from a lawyer indicating the amount of the award is $85,000.00 dollars. I have made every effort to update any content distributed with the incorrect sum(s).

Updated: I was provided the incorrect settlement sum.  The correct amount is 250,000.00 – one-quarter of a million dollars.

I have just learned that Henniker resident Lorin D. Mulligan has won her Superior court case against the town of Henniker.  The court found in favor of Mulligan on all 6 counts and I have been told is now owed $85,000.00.  (She will also be requesting attorney’s fees.)

Vote suppressor Carl Robert Gibson goes to court today.  In fact, he is at the Concord district court, at this very moment, with his attorney.  I know this because they walked in at sat down within inches of Ed Naile who was already there, and proceeded to discuss their case.

(Hot Air) In a plea agreement that was unsealed today (PDF), a former chief executive officer of red-light camera company Redflex has pleaded guilty to bribing Columbus and Cincinnati elected officials. Karen Finley, the former CEO, was pressed by Democratic officials in both cities to make campaign contributions in exchange for giving Redflex the contract to install and maintain red-light cameras in the cities.

(in less than) Ten days from now you will no longer be allowed to decide whether or not you are capable of safely holding a cell phone to your head and speaking while driving. Governor Maggie Hassan has taken the decision out of your hands.

For the record, you will get cited and fined an increasingly greater sum (illegal “use tax”) should you get caught disobeying Nanny Hassan.  And all for nothing, actually, because there is zero evidence that revoking this privilege for everyone will do anything the proponents have claimed.
