Notable Quote – Ammo Grrrll

Stop mocking kids - powerline blogEvery Friday a necessary read for me is Ammo Grrrll – a retired comedienne with a lovely sense of dry humor and lots of great turn of phrases. This Friday’s column was concerning the Parkland Kiddies; you know, “first I’m a high level Progressive Activist destroying peoples lives” – and when criticized – “How dare you pick on me, I’m a child!”:

But know this: the gun control despots will NEVER give up, as we can see with the well-financed Brain-Dead Blathering Teen Tour.

The Keene “March for Lesser Rights” (er, “Our Lives”) report

Loyal reader Vincent sent me a note letting us know that time had been taken to video the event in Keene, NH that mirrored the national “March for Lessening our Constitutional Rights Our Lives”. We appreciate that so here it is! You just gotta love them making small children as political pawns (starting around 3:00. … Read more

Round 2: Jennifer Abbott and the SPLC – it’s getting personal

SPLC hatersWell, Jennifer Abbot decided to respond to my first response Letter to her’s as several friends alerted me to her newest screed (seriously: “God drivel“? No, not on the actual merits and questions I brought up but an attack on me personally – and tries to turn herself into a victim because I “belittled” her. Heh! I’ve once again put her Letter after the jump and the first part of my second response here. I may even directly fisk her letter to “amplify” things a bit as the headline for her Letter to the Editor went right to the heart of what Progressives want to do to those that oppose their policies:

HOPEFULLY, GILFORD VOTERS WILL REMOVE MR. MURPHY FROM THEIR BUDCOM IN 2020

Yep – silence you knave! How dare you refuse to accept our enlightened outlook on your petty little lives (heh!). Well, let see how this will turn out:

They haven’t learned cause and effect yet, have they?

Or that the Law of Unintended Consequences doesn’t care about you at all – especially your level of being “woke”: And they seriously believe that their schools system demanding that only transparent backpacks violate their Constitutional Rights? Didn’t do your homework, kids. Guess they also missed the “be careful for what you wish for” lesson, … Read more

Resistance: not just for Progressives there, Skippy

Obama v Hogg AR-15 salesLike I said – fair game.

Welcome to Alinsky. And from what I’ve seen in over a decade, once riled and put upon, the Right is much more ingenious in being a Resistance. I look around at the signs of today and there is little creativity when compared to some of the TEA Party signs.

Letter: Senators condescending in debate on gun amendment

Sometimes for a conservative blogger, the Concord Monitor can’t be beat for finding fodder. The above was from yesterday concerning the Amendment that would allow local School Board make decisions on our Right to keep and bear arms (Article 2-a in the NH Constitution).

What Democrat NH State Senator Hennessey wanted to do is start to unravel the idea that we are a Dillon’s Rule state – the State of NH has primacy and the Towns and Cities in NH are mere political subdivisions. While this can be viewed as a bit disconcerting here in the State whose motto is “Live Free or Die” at that macro level, it would allow The State (at the local level) to monkey with universal Rights simply because of an extremist ideological hatred of firearms wielded by law-abiding citizens to where we wouldn’t really ever know, based on crossing a town/city line, if we were in compliance with the law or magically transformed into jailbait with a turn of one’s tires.

FB Doodlings: “Katharine Gregg: Why can’t we give up our guns?” – Part 1

AR-15 PDWI am so behind on these kinds of “I comment here” and “commented there” type posts, so it’s now time to get a’marching.

The question above was asked over at the Concord Monitor. I’ll give her props for outing herself that she’s terrified of these totally inanimate object, and turn on her for demanding the my Right be cancelled to make her feel “safe”. That’s not my responsibility and if she truly thought about where that Right comes from and plays connect the dots, I might think different of her but I don’t – as an adult, she should have realized this much, much sooner. The failure to do so tells us of her arrested development in believing that she has a Right to outsource the basis of her feelings onto others. Now, at the risk of being accused of having no empathy – it’s not my job nor anyone else’s job to make her safe (unless they are drawing a paycheck directly from her to be her personal bodyguard). What she said that caught my eye (entire Op-Ed after the jump). My response:

“…For the good of all, we each give up a little..”.

Yes, Article 3 speaks to this “[Society, its Organization and Purposes.] When men enter into a state of society, they surrender up some of their natural rights to that society, in order to ensure the protection of others; and, without such an equivalent, the surrender is void.”

Notice it comes after Article 2-a, so it is subordinate to it: “[Art.] 2-a. [The Bearing of Arms.] All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.”

At least you make it clear that you are scared of guns. You also have hit on why most of us rebel against calls to turn them in: “Don’t restrict my freedom to have one. In fact, isn’t freedom to pursue things an American tradition? Our right? To be free to pursue our rights, or our desires, without interference – read regulation.”

After this weekend’s “March for our lives”…they don’t realize they are just the newest version of Cindy Sheehan

How dare you wear that offensive t shirtIn hearing and reading the stories of how school administration and teachers were supportive of what turned out to be lots of, not “school safety” protests, but of “turn it up to 11” political rallies by middle and high school kids who seemingly know jack about our country’s political and philosophical history, the idea that a Right is not granted by Government, and aided, abetted, organized, and financed by the Left’s civilian disarmament battalions, the image above fits.

Really, after the snarling, F-bomb, cursing interviews all around the themes that THEY are in charge (and adults are stupid – gee, where’d they get THAT from??), I’m believing that charter schools, private schools, religious schools, and homeschooling rates are going to soar as parents determined “not MY little bundle of joy and angst.”

I guess a human could be called a semi-automatic rock gun, right?

Bucket of rocksThis has got to be about one of the stupidest ideas I’ve heard yet – akin to “we have to destroy the village to save it” (or Bush’s “”I’ve abandoned free market principles to save the free market system”). Seriously, a bucket of rocks to throw against an active shooter?  Really, who thinks of such idiocy?  Oh yeah, teachers:

Pa. district arms teachers with rocks in case of school shooter

A rural school district in Pennsylvania is arming teachers and students with buckets of rocks as a last resort should an armed intruder burst in, the superintendent said.

Every classroom in the district about 90 miles northwest of Philadelphia has a 5-gallon bucket of river stones, said Blue Mountain School District Superintendent David Helsel. “We always strive to find new ways to keep our students safe,” Helsel told The Associated Press in a telephone interview, adding that the rocks are one small part of the district’s overall security plan. Throwing rocks is more effective than just crawling under desks and waiting, and it gives students and teachers a chance to defend themselves, he said. The district has about 2,700 students at three elementary schools, a middle school and a high school.

Yeah, like a group of first graders are going to bean someone with a pistol.

I keep expecting more from DC Republicans – but they suck anyways.

Government-Spending-998x665That’s what swamp creatures do.  And this time, Trump jumped in.  From the Union Leader:

The bill abandons GOP claims of fiscal discipline in a stark reversal of the promises many Republicans ran on in capturing control of the House in 2010 and the Senate in 2014 as they railed against what they described as a profligate President Barack Obama.

House GOP leaders tossed aside their own rules and past complaints about Democrats to rush the legislation through the House ahead of a Friday night government shutdown deadline. Lawmakers of both parties seethed, saying they had scant time to read the mammoth bill, which was released less than 17 hours before they voted.

If the “lawmakers of both parties seethed”, then why did they vote yes?  Sorry, I lost my mind for a moment.  Yes, I was part of that

Tales from the BudComm – from afar

BudgetI just found this online concerning the results of the BudComm races in our little hamlet – Forewarned is Forearmed?

I find it interesting that the Progressive folks who have managed to take one-third of the seats in our little town’s Budget Committee now believe that they control the purse strings and will be dictating to the other 8 members how we’re all going to be voting to greatly increase spending (and taxes), particularly on the school side of the budget.

They really don’t know, THEY REALLY DON’T KNOW!

I am not surprised – what started out as a movement for “school safety” has now been politicized and turn into “gun bans tinged with gun control” fantasy land for the Left.  “Finally, we have our TEA Party” they must be congratulating themselves over.  A Marxist Childrens Crusade, they believe – they’ll try to ride this pony onward and upwards, my comrades!  I guess they forget what a disaster the original one turned out to be – absolute slaughter.  And the chief drama students that they groomed (e.g., David Hogg) will soon be in a lot of campaign commercials (IF the GOP has the smarts to do so).  Already, gun sales are heading upward once again.

TMEW was listening while I was watching this video taken yesterday from the “March of Ignorance” in DC.  OK, all of the usual Leftist groups that organized and monetized middle and high school kids actually named it “March for Our Lives”.  Problem is they have no idea of what they are marching for.  Go ahead, listen to the part about “assault weapons / rifles”:

Now, that’s pretty bad.  Worse are the kids that are fine with banning all guns. Worst of all were the ones saying that the Second Amendment was outdated and from another time. Who teaches them this?  Do they really know their own American history?  Do they even know just general history and how the majority of governments through time have been totalitarian – the reason we have the Second Amendment and Article 2-A in the first place?

GOP Consistency???

Er, no.  That’s one of the big reasons why I left the GOP a few years ago now.  They preach their philosophy and then act against it. Response to hate mongering Jennifer Abbott extolling the Southern Policy Law Center

OWNING AN ASSAULT RIFLE IS MORE IMPORTANT A CHILD’S LIFE? RIDICULOUS!

SPLC haters

What is ridiculous is her illogical assertion; one could figuratively see the spittle coming from her lips; h Her letter is after the jump.  My response (emphasis now added):

To the Editor,

This is in response to Jennifer Abbott’s jeremiad extolling the wonders of the Southern Poverty Law Center. True, it was invaluable during the Civil Rights era, it has degenerated into a hate mongering entity that accuse others as being such. Why do I say that?

Anything or anyone that is against the the Progressive (or as she says “enlightened”) morality it holds are labeled as hate groups or hate filled people without exception.
