Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. Quick Thought: HB 1319 – asked and answered

hb1319womanhoodAs to Gov. Chris “Supporting the Democrat Agenda Identity Group politics against the NH GOP” in signing HB1319, I was asked earlier today:

Where do you stand?

Answer:  It demands coerced speech and behavior from those that do not believe that a man can simply announce that he is a woman and MUST refer to him as such (contra our lying eyes). It now sets up transgenders as a whole as yet another special interest group, another “protected class” that now has “elevated” privileges not available to the general public.  With Sununu’s signature of Friday, they have risen to the top of the Progressive Identity Totem Pole ranking at least for the weekend (as that ranking seems to change every few minutes than a pachinko ball changes its direction; said ranking seems to be in constant flux based on the “political opportunity” at hand and it is their club.).

It also places half the population, females, into a lowered status physically; the two examples are from Connecticut and Texas where trans girls winning girls’ state championships simply because they announced they are now girls and not boys. What is the fairness in that? Is it the goal, for Political Correctness / Cultural Marxism reasons, to wipe out any commonsense differences between the two sexes?  After all, you can’t call it a “social construct” on one hand and “Patriarchy” on the other at the same time.

I may not have always agreed with Charles but he was always a treat to listen to.  Reasoned, well thought, and erudite; those were the hallmarks of Charles Krauthhammer. He has just informed us all that he only has weeks to live due to cancer:

“I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months. I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but I’m afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me.”

Gov Sununu said I can pee hereGovernor Sununu, apparently, doesn’t like that line in so much.  His exact quote is “Winning is everything.”  I guess the “the means justify…” something or other. If you don’t have a purpose, it doesn’t matter, I guess.  It’s like that old phrase “if you don’t know where yer goin’, it doesn’t matter what road you take.” And right now, the conservative base in NH is waiting to see what road Governor Sununu is going to take.

Chris SununuBy the time you read this, Governor Chris Sununu may have already signed HB139 – the latest Bathroom Bill.  We at GraniteGrok helped to defeat the last couple. If he does, the act will be complete the process of the Republican Party alienating one of its most active and supportive wings of the Party. After all, why should people donate to or work for a Party which just made it almost a certainty that both speech and faith Constitutional Rights will be rent in two?  So why does Gov Chris Sununu want to become the next Colorado Civil Rights Commission in ramming a secular faith down our throats? King Nebuchadnezzar.

Tales from the Budcomm – they don’t want to do their jobs?

BudgetI’m a bit late on commenting on this – the last meeting was on May 24th.  While the entire 2 hour video can be seen here (and if you are concerned with openness and transparency, there’s quite a dollop of it, care of moi), I’ve clipped out the part that had my eyebrows up over my head (it starts up around 40 minutes for a better context).

The heart of what a good Budget Committee does (and is mandated to do) is to go over the budget at the General Ledger line item level (GL Account, or “line item” as it is often referred to). But rookie BudComm member Joe Wernig (a hard Progressive who ran on a platform that NOTHING should be cut from government, especially the School District budget) actually said that he isn’t going to do what he was elected to do; “I don’t want to do that!” (at 2:16, below):

Good to know, good to know.  I’m betting now that Aaron Day is going to start winding his campaign up a few notches.  I’m even betting that an R might show up to cause Baby Huey to have to spend time and money during the Primary season on an effort that he ordinarily could have avoided.  EASILY avoided.

The latest Pew Research Center survey found that nearly three-quarters of the nation feels worn out by the fast pace of news.

“Almost seven-in-ten Americans (68 percent) feel worn out by the amount of news there is these days, compared with only three-in-10 who say they like the amount of news they get. The portion expressing feelings of information overload is in line with how Americans felt during the 2016 presidential election, when a majority expressed feelings of exhaustion from election coverage,” said Pew.

GraniteGrok reports: Annual Belknap County GOP Lake Winnipesaukee Cruise – Steve Negron

Following Brian Belanger was his friend, Steve Negron.  Both are running for the US House of Representatives in NH’s Second Congressional District.  Like the others, Steve addressed the crowd on the M/S Mount Washington on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Note: it seems that a number of the candidates are prior military – many of them Air Force such as Steve Negron (Major, retired, Missile command).  Turns out that David Webb, the MC, is a prior Marine – and was egged on a bit by Al Baldasaro.  I think you’ll enjoy that the inter-branch rivalry that was brought up.

DISQUS Doodlings: Both Jonathan Baird and Dan Williams are wrong about the First Amendment and the NFL

Level the playing fieldBackground: Jonathan Baird works for the Social Security Administration, Dan Williams is a government teacher.  Both work in union dominated workplaces; my opinion stems from that and that both of them get the new NFL policy wrong from different viewpoints.  Mine?  The owners own the teams – they can make policies that their employees have to follow; Baird disagrees (reformatted, emphasis mine):

The new policy outlined by Commissioner Roger Goodell that requires NFL players to stand during the national anthem did not come out of any collective bargaining agreement between the owners and the players. It was a unilateral assertion by management. Up until now, there has been no NFL rule that prohibited players from demonstrating during the national anthem. I am at a loss to understand how the owners think they can enforce a unilateral declaration.

Quick Thought: One would think that all Republicans would be voting FOR more Individual Freedoms…use your vote against them

Right to workFrom the NH GOP Platform:

  • Support legislation to allow workers to decide the allocation of the portion of their union dues used for political purposes
  • We believe in free people, free markets and free enterprise

To that latter point – if unions have the mindset that they can prevent competition and lock potential workers out of jobs, that’s no longer a free labor market. And those locked out of a job because it is a closed shop are no longer free to compete. On those two points,  Americans For Prosperity NH (“AFP”) is now about to do the job that the NH GOP continuously fails to do – holding RINOS that stray to supporting the Democrat agenda accountable.
