Years ago, story after story would appear stemming from the developing “outlook” of what Social Work Graduate Schools were demanding their graduates adopt. They kept throwing out students who were either Conservative, Christian, or both, or just not hewing to the Narrative of how the world was to be seen and dealt with by these newly minted graduates.
There was a discussion about an outside agency coming in to “train” students of all grades in “Social and Emotional Learning” at a particular NH-based School District. What concerned folks was its progressive word-salad mission statement (shared below).

We used to use the phrase “Bring Big Flashlights” when we first started, but like many things, there were lots of “Shiny Objects” that captured my attention over the years. And after my latest DCYF-induced hiatus of several months, I am starting to rev back up again.
Back in Jr. High and High School, I was a WWII military nerd. Anything to do with the militaries involved in the war (pretty much everyone), I read. In fact, I read every book in the Campello library (part of Brockton, MA, where I grew up) and then started in on the main library downtown.
We start with a “blast from the past. My screaming match (several years ago) with former Laconia Daily Sun reporter Mike Kitsch over “financial compassion” while I was on my Hamlet’s budget committee. A reprise about our “chat” in a very public parking lot of the Mills Falls hotel that sets up the rest of the post.
It’s simple. Supply vs Demand, with the Government artificially manipulating the marketplace because it controls the third leg of the housing marketplace – interest rates.
Public schools have been indoctrinating our children, and it is our tax dollars that are making this possible. Our own money is being used by those who hate us against us and our children. You know that. You know about the library problem. But did you know this?

Every Sunday, the UL’s Landrigan does a “State House Dome” wrap-up. As I scanned through the column, the word “domicile” caught my eye. No, Landrigan didn’t use it extemporarily on his own; he was quoting Dem Minority Leader Matt Wilhelm’s own words.
The takeaway here isn’t that “it’s for the kids.” We hear that every time a school budget comes up or another teacher union contract comes due. It is that IT is for the Union. Period. Full Stop.

When the government meddles, things get messed up. The market – whichever it is – no longer works correctly, nor can it – and as you can see in the chart below, it is you that pays the price, typically in two directions.
One thing I have learned over these past 17 years here at GraniteGrok is that there is a descending value placed on professionals being held responsible.
The traditional American view of people as Individuals REQUIRES swift justice. Instead, the Progressives see not individual criminals but Society as a whole being an entire group – which deserves to be punished.

I can see why older generations don’t want to hire young CryBullies or socialize with them, for that matter—being “on time” used to be an accepted, almost mandatory, social norm in Society—one of the things that “glued” us together.
