The Democrat Party Uses Violence to Gain Power

One of the frauds attempted during the Democrat Convention is that Democrats want to reduce gun violence in America.  While I’m sure most Democrats consider themselves anti-violence, the party they support is the party of violence.  Democrat politicians and leaders, excuse, encourage, and use violence, successfully, to advance its political objectives.

While the sympathy displayed for the victims of gun violence and their families may have been sincere, the Democrat Party leadership willingly sacrifices people in their quest for power.  Democrat Party policies make America more violent, make law-abiding Americans more vulnerable to criminals and terrorists, and use violence to get support for, or at least acceptance of, their policies.

Big Government Takes from You to Benefit Politicians

The American Revolution wasn’t fought for plunder or conquest, but for the ideas that people can govern themselves and have inherent (by birth) rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  For these ideas wealthy, prominent Americans, prospering under British rule, pledged/risked their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor…and many endured hardships during the revolution they began.

The US Constitution defined a government that implemented those ideas, enabling self-government (through elected representatives) and protecting peoples’ inherent rights.

Some people have various criticisms of the Constitution, e.g., it allowed slavery, although it authorized Congress to abolish it after 1808, and it didn’t enable women to vote; but the Constitution provided an amendment process for providing fixes and addressing future needs.

In our first century, Americans became the wealthiest and freest people in the world; millions immigrated to pursue their American dreams.

Then things changed.

Hillary Promises to Take More of our Liberties

Leftists (progressives, liberals, Democratic Socialists, or whatever they want to be called to hide their intentions), unrestricted as they are by facts, logic, history, or reality, often ascribe their own nasty characteristics to their opponents, e.g., that the TEA Party is Fascist.

The leftists would probably prefer to call the TEA Partiers Nazis, which were perhaps 100 times worse than Fascists, or Stalinists, which were even worse, but everyone knows that Nazis are Socialist and Stalinists were Communist and the leftists like socialism and communism.

The distinctions between Fascist, Socialist, Communist, Tsarist, Emperor, and other absolute (right-wing or left-wing) dictatorships are only interesting to philosophers and academics tired of debating how many angels can dance on the head of pin.  The distinctions are meaningless to the people whose freedoms, property, and lives are arbitrarily taken by government.

People will Suffer as long as Politicians Benefit from People’s Suffering

I was saddened by Ted Hill’s letter of March 18 in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com).  Mr. Hill seems to have been deceived by leftists about the threats to his children.  The threats to young people from things that families, friends, teachers, and acquaintances influence are 250 times greater than the threat from police and perhaps many thousand times greater than the threat to people who obey police commands (even if someone feels they are undeserved).  The fact is that the chance of police using harmful force against someone who is following their directions, as responsible parents teach their children, is essentially zero.

The top three killers, responsible for over 77% of black male deaths ages 15-24, are homicide, accidents, and suicide (http://goo.gl/GftYNg.).  Black males, 20-24, are three times more likely to die from HIV, the sixth most likely cause of death, than from legal intervention.  The top two killers (http://goo.gl/3nA0Dt), claiming 39-48% of black females ages 15 -24 are accidents and homicide, number 5 is suicide.

The main causes of death for all young people, 15-24, in 2013 (http://goo.gl/laC6gT) were 11,619 from accidents, 4878 from suicide, 4329 from homicide, 3796 from drugs, 149 from alcohol, and 109 from HIV.  These lethal results are influenced by family, friends, acquaintances, teachers, etc., not by police.

Leftists get Americans Killed

Whatever beneficent sounding name the Marxist leftists now want to be called (e.g., Liberals, Progressives, Democratic Socialists) to hide their real intentions, they are getting lots of people killed.  (And, I am not referring to the murders (Democide) of over 100 million un-tried and un-convicted citizens in the last century by the “utopian” governments the Marxists want for us, demonstrated by the Soviet Union, China (PRC), and Cuba.)

I refer to the Marxist leftists’ policies that jeopardize law-abiding people while increasing the danger from criminals and terrorists.

If being a “gun free zone” has prevented a single act of violence, the evidence would be repeated endlessly.  “Gun free zones” only provide safe spaces for criminals, terrorists, and crazy people to kill, rape, and/or rob defenseless people.

As demonstrated in Paris, Chicago, Brussels, and all over the world, terrorists, criminals, and even insane people can get the weapons they want; no gun laws will stop them.  Gun laws are only obeyed by law-abiding people.

Overly restrictive gun laws have cost many Americans, and others, their lives by making them defenseless in the face of danger.  Battered and threatened women are killed waiting for gun permit approvals; their restraining orders didn’t protect them.  The high cost of gun permits make many people defenseless victims in high crime areas.  And, since armed police were apparently absent, only armed civilians could have reduced the carnage in Paris or San Bernardino.

Neither Trump nor Hillary are Worthy of being President

Donald Trump is a sore loser, so he lashes out.  Give him a pacifier.
He’s crude; he even manages to present reasonable proposals in an offensive way.
He’s nasty:  consider his vicious comments about Ben Carson, Megyn Kelly, Carli Fiorina, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, et al.
Perhaps Trump attacks personally because he can’t debate policy.  Perhaps former President Carter is right that Trump is “completely malleable”, without any fixed positions.

Carson, not Cruz, at fault for Iowa

Who’s to blame for the rumor that Ben Carson was suspending his campaign after the Iowa caucus?
Was it CNN which accurately reported that Ben Carson was returning to Florida after the caucus, wouldn’t go to New Hampshire or South Carolina, would go to the Washington prayer breakfast, would be speaking at 9:15 regardless of the caucus results, and speculated that a serious Presidential candidate wouldn’t act this way?  Was it the CNN tweet:  “After the #IAcaucus, @RealBenCarson plans to take a break from campaigning.”
Was it the Marco Rubio campaign that “was pushing the narrative hard” that Carson was dropping out?  Was it the Ted Cruz campaign that passed the CNN report to its caucus leaders?  Was it the Rand Paul campaign that apparently did the same?
Was it Carson’s staff which, hearing of the CNN report, didn’t correct the speculation?  Or was it the Carson campaign itself for giving CNN the information that led to the report and the subsequent speculation which they reported as “Breaking News”?

Cruz is Biggest Threat to the Washington Establishment

Big government gobbles increasing amounts of people’s money, freedoms, and opportunities which politicians use to enhance their power and wealth and to provide privileges to themselves (e.g., Obamacare exemption) and favored special interests (e.g., subsidies, regulations, tax loopholes).

Our nation’s founders knew that the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.  The Constitution they created, and approved by the people’s state representatives, authorized a small Federal government with strictly limited powers for the purpose of protecting people’s rights, property, and opportunities.

The benefit of this small, limited government was demonstrated during the first half of our nation’s existence.  We had a real citizen government; Congressmen typically served less than two terms.  During that short period of tremendous growth and change, the American people created the largest, freest, and wealthiest middle class in the world.

In the early 20th Century politicians decided to ignore the Constitution so they could use government to “do good” (especially for themselves).

Who does the Republican Establishment Congratulate?

Today’s mailing from the National Republican Senatorial Campaign (NRSC) asked me to join them in sending congratulations for a Victory in the Iowa Caucus.

Were they congratulating the winner, Senator Ted Cruz, who got more votes than any Republican ever in an Iowa Republican caucus and exceeded the polling average expectations by 3.8%?  No!

Were they congratulating Senator Marco Rubio for this third place showing that exceeded expectations by 6.2%?  No.

Were they congratulating Senator Rand Paul for his campaign and showing?  No.

The Washington Establishment only Fears Ted Cruz

If you are happy with our government in Washington, DC, then just vote for any Presidential Primary candidate approved by the Republican or Democrat establishment.
Any such “approved” candidate will continue most or all the big government, wasteful, corrupt policies that destroy jobs, places an immoral debt burden on future Americans, oppresses citizens, and ignores the expressed wishes and best interests of the American people.

Gun Control is Promoted with Misleading and False Claims

James Veverka always presents compelling, although misleading and sometimes false, arguments in support of his radical leftwing policies which require Americans to give up our freedoms and prosperity.  And he offers his “evidence” with snarky comments about anyone who might disagree with him.

Consider his October 22 letter in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com) about guns and gun control.

We in New Hampshire should immediately know that Veverka’s claims are simply false.  If Veverka’s gun control claims were correct, with our hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of guns, open carry, and shall-issue concealed carry laws, then New Hampshire should be a war zone.  Yet New Hampshire (and Vermont with fewer gun restrictions) typically vies for the lowest murder rate in the nation, usually by a wide margin.  Guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens do not create a crime problem.

Capitalism: Mankind’s Golden Goose

One of the negative results of the wealth created by capitalism is that ignorant, lazy, and/or jealous people have time to complain about capitalism.  Typically they do this from comfortable homes filled with indoor plumbing, labor-saving and entertaining appliances; eat good food; drive their car(s) on public roads; receive public education; and keep in touch with friends, family, and information via cell phones; all provided by capitalism or the money it generated.

The best thing about capitalism is that every dollar of wealth is created and every dollar is transferred because a person voluntarily exchanged his/her money for a product or service that he or she wanted more than the money.

Remember August 6th for Lives Saved and Lessons Learned

Americans and Japanese should celebrate August 6th because American action on this date seventy years ago helped save at least 500,000 American and 6 million Japanese lives during World War II.

Before the first atomic bomb was dropped on Japan, Americans were planning the invasion of Japan.  The Japanese were expected to fight even more fiercely for their homeland than they fought elsewhere.  Typically they fought to the death, often only about 1 percent of the soldiers were captured.  Japanese women and children on Japanese controlled islands committed suicide rather than surrender.

Japanese preparations for the invasion were being made.  Every man and woman was being trained and armed.  Fighting in Japan itself might have continued until nearly every Japanese man, woman, and youth was dead.

The American military had ordered the first of multiple planned orders for 500,000 purple hearts to award to American casualties.  Fighting was expected to be as fierce as at Iwo Jima where about 850 Americans died for every square mile of land captured.

The Lives of People You Love May Depend on Your Vote

Kathryn Steinle shouldn’t be dead.  Joshua Wilkerson, Mirta Rivera, Casey Chadwick, Rodney Johnson, Javier Vega Jr., Jamiel Shaw Jr., and over 25,000 more Americans shouldn’t be dead either.  They were all killed by illegal aliens who shouldn’t have been here.

Those Americans died and millions of others were raped, robbed, battered, kidnapped, impoverished, or otherwise victimized because greedy Washington Democrat and Republican politicians and special interest groups care more about their own power and wealth than the well-being of the American people.

Illegal immigration beneficiaries repeatedly lie about its benefits for our country, e.g., doing jobs Americans won’t do, law-abiding, tax-paying, etc.

American workers do all jobs: waiters, housekeeping, crop picking, garbage collecting, ditch digging, construction, cleaning-out septic tanks, etc.  The vast majority of workers in all but a very few job categories are American citizens.  More Americans would be working and self-supporting if immigrants didn’t take jobs and drive down wages.

Our Misplaced Outrage

Everyone regrets the killing of Cecil, a majestic lion.  The law-breakers should be prosecuted.  But the outrage and viciousness of the attacks on those involved is puzzling.

Some of the outrage is simply because the pictures show Cecil as a benign and magnificent animal, not as the bully and killer that he was.  But mostly we react because, as civilized humans, we believe in the rule of law, have a sense of morality, and respect for majestic animals.

Seeing the outrage over a lion’s killing, one has to wonder, where is the outrage at much worse offenses against American citizens?

Kathryn Steinle’s Blood Covers Many Politicians’ Hands

Two levels of government have the responsibility, authority, and capability to protect the citizens of San Francisco from illegal aliens.  Currently these are the Democrat controlled City Government and the Democrat, President Obama, controlled Federal Government.  Both governments failed to protect Kathryn Steinle from being murdered by a habitual felon and repeatedly deported illegal alien who was in San Francisco because it’s one of America’s 276 “sanctuary” cities.

Kathryn Steinle could have been just another one of thousands of unpublicized illegal alien homicide victims.  (More than one daily based on Government reports.  For some names, faces, and details see:  http://www.ojjpac.org/memorial.asp)

Most Americans only know about Kathryn’s murder because Donald Trump created a firestorm by talking about the harm done to our country and to millions of Americans by illegal aliens.

Trump’s comments are still being condemned by the politically correct crowd who try to shut down anyone, any talk, or anything that threatens their political objectives, their favored special interests, and the Washington elite.

Progressive Policies are Good for the Rich and Hurt Everyone Else

Despite knowing of the “Progressive” (actually socialist) domination in most American Colleges and Universities, I was shocked at the absolute fantasy worldview presented in Brandeis University Professor Kuttner’s article (as described in Tom Dawson’s letter of 4/8/15 in the Laconia Daily Sun, laconiadailysun.com).  Parents who pay for their children to be “educated” by such professors are being cheated, as are their children.

Aside from factual errors such as “higher education was free” in the 1950-60s and other false Democrat Party talking points, Kuttner’s article is simply a partisan attack against Republicans and promotion of socialist ideas which have never improved the lives of most people.  In fact, Socialist governments created poverty and suffering for billions of people, and murdered at least 100 million people.

Six years of President Obama’s policies interfering in our economy in ways that Kuttner approves have created a stagnant economy which is disastrous for most Americans.  Median incomes are down about 4% while taxes and the cost of living increased, middle class wealth is down by about 40%, a lower percent of our people are actually working, and more Americans live in poverty and need government assistance to survive.  But, Obama’s policies have done very well for rich people.

For all my life “Progressive” policies have made the rich richer but most Americans poorer.  Politicians who really cared about non-rich Americans would abandon “Progressive” policies.

The TEA Party Promotes Policies to Help All Americans

I was amused by June M. Huot’s letter of April 14, 2015 in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com) requesting information about the TEA Party and making so many false assertions.

First, each TEA Partier speaks for him/herself or perhaps their local group, no one person or group speak for “The TEA Party” which is a movement of millions of Americans in thousands of individual groups.

We believe that our Federal Government today is bought (with political support) by special interest groups which have no concern for most Americans, or for the security and prosperity of our nation.

We believe that today’s bought government is responsible for most of our nation’s and our citizens’ problems and that returning to government that works for all Americans requires adherence to certain principles including the rule of law, personal responsibility, fiscal responsibility, and small, Constitutionally limited government.
