An ancient aphorism: “ History does not repeat itself, but it rhymes!”
Unless one believes in Reincarnation, historical repetition is impossible because the characters are completely different characters. However, human nature has remained the same since Eve persuaded Adam to bite the forbidden fruit despite knowing that grave consequences would ensue. I hope that was a delicious bite.
Another example of historic betrayal involved the Roman Empire. To prevent Julius Caesar from becoming the first Roman Emperor, Brutus, his best friend, murdered him. Eventually, Roman elites persuaded themselves that borders were unnecessary. That idiotic stupidity enabled the Germanic invasion of Rome and the destruction of the Roman Empire!
Charles, what does that have to do with today? Let’s see.
Historical parallels to recent American history are striking and terribly unsettling. In President Trump’s first term , Vice President Mike Pence pretended disenchantment with America’s direction to deliberately and underhandedly subvert the President’s domestic, international, and national security policies. Pence thought he could do better than the President.
Pence’s greed for power contributed to the election of Joseph Biden, who inhabited the White House during the worst economic and international period of American history since World War II.
Unfortunately for Pence, he was unaware of the story of the Phoenix from Greek Mythology: a mythical bird that was reborn from its own ashes. As the Phoenix, Trump rose from the ashes of the fraudulent 2020 election to be only the second President in American history to serve non-consecutive terms. President Trump has succeeded in militarily securing the Western Hemisphere, evicting the CCP and Putin from Greenland, forcing Europe to pay its contractual share of the NATO alliance budget, and setting up the American economy for dramatic improvement.
Thank you, President Trump! Keep up the great work!
