Let’s pretend you just got a phone call. It’s from a place you used to work. You’re retired now, and it’s not your boss on the phone, but some other ’employee.’ They had a meeting and decided to fire you, even though you don’t work there anymore. How exactly do they do that, you wonder, or better yet, why?

It’s petty and stupid and meaningless. Well, not exactly. If they fire you, maybe you no longer get any benefits you might have earned as a result of being retired. That’s certainly an incentive. It’s petty and vindictive but that would be exactly the sort of people to do it.
It also sets a prescedent.
If private citizen Donald Trump can be impeached from a job he does not hold but did, a Republican majority Congress could do the same thing to Barack Obama.
Obama was looped in on all the illegal spying. His FBI and CIA hid exculpatory evidence. We know he was involved in what amounted to unconstitutional surveillance on private citizens, the media, members of Congress, and numerous other illicit interventions.
He weaponized the FBI, State, the CIA, the IRS, and the President’s National Security Council (HUD, the Department of Education, … wait, was there anything he didn’t weaponize?). And he aided and abetted enemies like Iran and helped to finance global terrorism with pallets of your cash. Destablizied Libya and handed it over to terrorists who later killed four Americans, including an Ambassador, while Barry was MIA).
A majority with the will and the means could wipe him out, his pension, and his secret service detail in a few days. He’d still have the hundreds of millions, book deals, and the island sea-level manse on Martha’s Vinyard.
But why stop there? Hillary Clinton’s sidekick Bill has some dirt on him tied to China, among others. The same majority could impeach him too.
But why stop there? Jimmy Carter was a near-total failure as a president (also still alive) whose one claim to fame (Middle East Peace) was something of a farce and since trumped only by Trump, but the Democrats can’t stop thinking of reasons to impeach him for things he never said or did.
If being ideologically vindictive once in power is the new unity, then we should take the hint and impeach any Democrat we can find as soon as we have the votes.
That’s the message from Democrats.
And if you know anything about this “game,” if you won’t or can’t hit back (rhetorically, procedurally, legally – especially when they tweak the law) twice as hard, twice as often, twice as fast, they’ll call you weak and break you the next chance you get.
If you think I’m lying look at the last ten years and tell me I’m wrong. Look at the November elections.
And in case you’ve forgotten, there are Republicans who aid and abet.
I guess we’ll need to impeach them too.
