OK, this intro of a project I’ve restarted (and to date, really haven’t settled on a really good name yet) isn’t going to drag on for much longer. But a “few more” became a LOT more. More than I ever thought:
More than I ever thought when I finished coding up Version 1.0 of GraniteGrok and opened the doors in 2006. Even if you account for all those that have left, there is a considerable number that are either regular writers or just once in a while:
This is nice, but it goes further. One of the things that I’ve said for years s that every single one of these folks is a political activist. We just don’t write, we do. What is really astonishing is in how many ways / venues Groksters are active and “doing the doing”.
Times change and things and people change with them. We’ve lost a number of folks over the years but in many ways, we’re also been more effective over the years. Doug left but Steve joined (and I can’t be happier that he did!) in and keeping things going, first as a “cross-blogger” from NH Insider, and then just on GraniteGrok (and NH Insider left the scene a while ago along with many of the political blogs that were around at our start like Blue Hampshire, our “rivals of equals” on the Left side of the aisle) and then appointed Editor with all that the position entails (including yelling at me when it is called for); it’s a better place for his ministrations.
We aren’t just Media (even as the MSM has become much more political and activist especially on the Left) – we’ve influenced people, projects, organizations, and issues. And we’ve done it by being Consistent in putting Freedom and Liberty first – Constitutional values matter even as politicians (even those here in the Live Free or Die State) don’t care or would be happier if they were done way with completely (and make no mistake, they are trying hard to make that happen).
There will be more to come in this “telling the story with images” as a get a better handle on the tool(s) I’m learning and using.
