Epidemic of Guns?

Epidemic

GET RID OF THOSE GUNS!

The Epidemic of Guns is once again on the front burner in the Wake of the recent Las Vegas Tragedy. Epidemic…”Their words, NOT MINE. Late night talk show hosts are weighing in with various and sundry policy statements and rants. Listening to the Kool-Aid drinking cuck liberals, one would get the impression this a huge problem….Literally millions falling from guns…shoot-outs on every street corner (that seems more real in Chicago). So what about it?

Famous people characterize everything they feel passionate about as an, “Epidemic.” Why do these artsy-fartsy Limousine liberal, pabulum-puking Hollywood elitists think they are suddenly subject matter experts on nearly everything from Global Warming to violence in America, for no other reason than they are actors? Opinions that are stupid and uninformed at best.

Yes, Actors. People paid an obscene amount of money to demonstrate a very specific skill. That skill, acting, or, the pretense of being somebody else in a screenplay script, a book or historical rendering. Socially acceptable Fraud. Akin to Bradley Cooper, if he chose to  speak about the exploits of being a Navy Seal, after playing one on the silver screen. So the boding question for me is how does that very limited skill set, make one a subject matter expert on guns, violence or Epidemics?

EpidemicOne observation about Hollywood actors is that once one achieves notoriety for a role, many become crazy. Booze, Drugs, silly public shenanigans, and rudeness to their fan base are the rule, not the exception. Actors publicly disparage the American Middle Class who buy the tickets to see the movies is an Olympic Sport for these cuck-liberals.

Occasionally, an actor might see things the way I see things and I might agree, but still that person is an actor. Moreover, they do not live like the rest of us do.

Fools with a capital “F” is a word reserved for those of us who listen to Actors. The famous beautiful people who step up to the mic to bloviate and run their pie holes, wagging fingers and virtue signaling. There is no epidemic, Hollywood elitist/actor/Doofuses. You are all just self-important Charlatans and phonies because your cadre yanks your chain. Here are the real facts.

The FBI complies data on an annual basis. Fortunately, that data and those statistics assist us to test this theory that (Gun) violence is at epidemic levels. Not that this will change any hearts or minds, because  I don’t set forth to do that. Solipsism lives well beyond the land of reason and whose shell cannot be penetrated once hardened against the kernels of reason.

Lets look at the hard and fast data. We keep hearing, “30,000 people die from guns every year! That is an Epidemic!” Epidemic? Charlatan much?

  • 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws.
  • 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified.[i]

Lohan-bookingCriminals with guns. Pointing them at the Police. Shooting at the Police. Shooting the Police. Those individuals who have taken on the role to stand between the citizenry and lawlessness. One area that is unclear is suicide. When a person determines to have the Police shoot him (or her) by wielding a gun or knife or other dangerous weapon (Suicide by cop) where does that go?

  • 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence. [ii]

Criminals shoot at each other. Criminals kill each other. Criminals don’t care about much else outside their own immediate world and sometimes shoot others totally unrelated to the incident in which they are engaged. Criminals do not follow the law. Criminals are not restrained by the law.

  • 3% are accidental discharge deaths.[iii]

People who poorly handled firearms, and this includes children and others who obtained access to guns. Far more children die from poisoning, drowning and in car crashes, yet where guns are concerned this is an “Epidemic.” Somehow we are to accept that it is MORE tragic for children to die by irresponsible firearms handling? Some reading this now will have (or have in the past) had a few drinks and piled the kids in the car. Seriously?

As demonstrated by the numbers, “(Gun) violence” is nowhere near 30,000 annually. To talk about gun violence and include that number is merely a political statement and not born out in fact.

So how much (Gun) Violence do we have in America? If we drill down those numbers we have about 5,100 incidences, if we accept FBI UCR statistics and CDC statistics as accurate.

5,100 incidences of homicide with firearms is still a lot.  Who is doing all this gun-killing?

Why is suicide by gun any more tragic than suicide by pills or carbon monoxide poisoning?  But, look at where and who is doing the shooting!

  • 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago.[iv]

That number needs to be updated. As of today, the number passes 500. Chicago, with its draconian gun laws and gun control is the nation’s number one destination.

  • 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore.[v]

Baltimore…another location where there are strict gun control laws. A literal sewer of crime, drugs and poverty.

  • 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit.

Need I say more?

  • 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years).

The Gun Ban capital of the United States.

That reduces the number of alleged (Gun) violence/deaths to 3,825. There is, however, still those places like New Orleans: 107; Oakland, CA: 108; Memphis TN: 126, and  Philadelphia, PA: 277.  That is an additional 13%

Additionally, Is there a correlation that all of these crime-riddled, violence-packed metros are run by Democrats?

It isn’t s stretch to observe that the majority of crimes involving guns occurs in major cities with strict gun control laws, coupled with long histories of Leftist control.   We’re left with roughly 64 deaths per state on average. But let’s not leave it there.  California had a total of 1,169 homicides while Alabama had only one. That cannot establish as a correlation or a causation because not all homicides were committed with guns.

If you are the one being killed, it probably doesn’t matter much if you are being shot, stabbed ball-batted or push out of a window. After the act you are no more or less dead than if done with a gun.

How do people die the most every year?

  • 40,000+ die from a drug overdose
  • 36,000 people die per year from the flu. (far outpacing gun deaths.)
  • 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities
  • 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. It is safer in the mean streets of Chicago than in a hospital.
  • 710,000 people die per year from heart disease.

A 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths.

A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides.

The information is there. The information is verifiable and one can only conclude that restricting, banning, and outlawing guns can only be about one agenda: Gun ownership stands in the way of the march toward European-styled Socialism. Actors opinining are just Kool-Aid Slurpers

As for Movie Stars against guns? “Who the hell cares what they have to say?” To the Hollywood Elites, I say, “Go on getting rich being paid to be something else, someone else…making violent movies with guns and never mind how we the unwashed live.”

You’re an eloquent orator Rick. How can anyone deny the truth you’ve spoken. If a liberal looks at this and can’t understand then they are blind, ignorant or have an evil agenda.

Great article. One observation: If you’re trying to convince a leftist, you’ll have to use more raw emotion and less logic and reason.

I was going to say something similar.
