Ask A NH Democrat: About Having “A Conversation About Taxes”

Back in 2010 Barack Obama’s excuse for not allowing taxes to rise (by letting inherited tax cuts expire) was that despite Democrats four year grip on congress and their parties complete control of government for two years, it wasn’t time to let that happen.   But not to worry.  He’d let taxes go back up at the end of 2012.

Well the end of 2012 is nigh. And President Obama has said nothing about preventing taxes from going Taxes and Democrats The pledge politics lie and broad based taxesup.   He’s not campaigning to prevent it.  He isn’t even talking about it.  So ask a New Hampshire Democrat…Can New Hampshire’s improved but fragile economy afford to lose its portion of the 600 billion dollars that these tax increases will drag kicking and screaming to Washington?

And if, as I suspect, NH Democrats believe we’ll be able to barter to get some of that back (strings and all), given the size and scope of deficits and spending, where 600 Billion doesn’t even cover more than a few months of the Obama Federal operating budget, how could we expect to get any of it back?

You want to have a conversation about taxes.  Let’s talk about these taxes.
