Crybaby Concord Monitor Whines

“Let the other guys do the crybaby stuff…Go for the laughs.” —Rip Torn

Concord Monitor is deleting comments to stories about people who comment there on taxpayer timeYesterday Morning, two Concord Monitor Reporters, Ann Marie Yimmons and Matt Spolar, were excluded (Barred – their word, not mine) from a press conference held by House Speaker Bill O’Brien. The topic “de jour” was a discussion of  reforms to the ebt system in the state.

So what does Felice Belman, Editor of the Monitor do? She makes speculative statements.

The Concord Patch had this to say….

Belman said this morning that she’s not sure if the cartoon had anything to do with the newspaper’s reporters being shut out of today’s event. She said the two reporters weren’t given a specific reason for being uninvited to the press conference.

Really?  Connect the dots, folks. this is accountability. We, as bloggers get excluded from all sorts of news events…We get “why” we are excluded. But we also are right up front about our positions, points of view and purpose…and we make no apologies for it. We write opinion….in response to the news. Never do we hold ourselves out to be something we are not. The Concord Monitor does.

The Concord Monitor is a left-wing, progressive, agenda-laden coven of liberals who purport themselves as a regional newspaper when in fact they are little more than a progressive mouthpiece. The Monitor continues to slant interviews, take quotes out of context, and shape news stories to fit their own personal agenda. Journalistic integrity has long hit the toilet and has been flushed. Now they complain about being barred from a press conference? Laughable.

And of course, the Concord Patch Piece would be replete if it didn’t include reaction from some notables like Buckles the Clown.

Typical of a bully. What a disgrace.

And the ever-whining insufferable Peter Sullivan….

The next time O’Brien and the Tea Party crowd wave their little pocket Constitutions, they may want to refer to the part labeled “First Amendment”.

Yeah…First Amendment….perhaps the Fishwrapper Concord Monitor ought to look that up when they totally skew and mischaracterize a position taken as they so often do….And there really is no free speech issue here. Other news organizations were allowed, not the Concord Monitor.

Shannon Bettencourt, spokesperson for the Republican Majority Office told WMUR,

“When the Concord Monitor proves they have chosen to become a responsible media outlet, we’ll be happy to invite them to future media events,” Bettencourt said in a statement.

Translation: When the Concord Monitor stops being a Fishwrapper, Leftwing rag and starts being an actual news organization, rather than a mouthpiece for the left, perhaps they can come to the party.  People get the whole editorial thing….but when the bent spills into the news, people also get that, too..
