RINO OF THE YEAR!

by Rick Olson

Representative Julie “The Mad Hatter” Brown, Strafford, District 1 is the RINO of the Year based on three separate polls!

Representative Julie “The Mad Hatter” Brown, Strafford, District 1 RINO of the Year

I was certain when I started these polls that Ken Gould would win. But Julie Brown left Ken in the dust and was overwhelmingly chose by over 300 participants in the polls.  In the coming days, I will be looking more closely at what  drove the selection…But I have be honest…I would have selected her myself.  Aside from other RINO’s, none has demonstrated such flippant arrogance and elitism as Julie Brown has.

Skip posted up Julie’s bumper stickers back on December 16, 2011….and they speak volumes…

I’ve met a few RINOs in my travels around NH, but this one took the cake!
While n Conord for the tax day tea party, this esteemed lady noticed my “No RINOs” pin. She feigned ignorance and asked what it was, and upon being told, claimed that she’d never heard of such a silly thing as Republican In Name Only. Her statements and demeanor convinced me that she was the only thing worse than a RINO- a RINO out to lunch!
Good people of Strafford, she may be perfectly nice, and very colorful to have as a neighbor, but she is not a Republican, nor is she looking out for your interests.

You know, Mike, after reading your response, I said, yes She truly “took the cake” (ate it, too!) On 12/16, Skip posted up a couple of pictures of the back of her car…So I went back in and reposted Skip’s pictures on this entry as an update.

I mean, seriously? how flippant and arrogant is she? I laugh to think about it…As an aside, She is DISHONEST, too….She knew she made RINO of the Week within a day of when I posted it….I know this because one of her surrogates e-mailed me to tell me she didn’t like being characterized as a “real dinosaur” as if I had made some comment about her weight. She damn well knows what a RINO is and she knows Grok has called her a RINO.

She likely asked you that to make some overt statement (without making a statement) that she doesn’t care that she is called a RINO….(but they all do, they care very much).

You people are MORONS.  I cant believe that you have the audacity to post pictures of her license plate?  What is the purpose of that?  Is it because you want harm to come to her.  Regardless of what you think of Julie Brown (who I have known for 40 years) you really have some nerve putting pictures of her license plate online.  I wonder if this might border on illegal…

        • Anonymous

One – it’s not illegal – and the plate tells you her District from where she was elected; it is also public record (I asked). Elected House Reps can choose, at an additional cost, to put these designated House plates on their cars. Effectively, they are Vanity plates.

Two – the purpose was NOT to highlight the license plate but the bumper stickers which I thought perfectly framed her title of RINO of the Week.

Rick and Skip, even though it may not be illegal to post the Julie’s Licence plate, if the shoe was on the other foot you would be screaming how she did you wrong. You are so full of yourself and others like you are the reason the Republican Party lost the last Presidential election

          • Anonymous

And that case would be different because neither of us are elected NH House Reps that have license plates that scream “I am a House Rep”.  In the reverse case, we are private citizens and at that point if she had posted our plates, it would be a case of an elected official abusing the power of her office – because we as private citizens do not have the ability to track down someone else’s license plate.

Further, as far as losing the Prez election in 2008?  If you think that we are why, you sorely are misinformed as to what really happened in that race.  McCain was not the candidate that could beat Obama – I’m almost convinced that no contemporary R politician could have beaten Obama given all of the factors that played into the election along with gestalt of the time period.

As far as being full of ourselves?  While we as bloggers have opinions aplenty and have no concerns about sharing them, make no mistake – I have, do, and always will believe that I am only but an ordinary schlub in central NH.  But one thing is true – if the Party Platform is the quality document that defines the philosophy of Republican Party and defines the outward facing beliefs of the Party, then each and every elected R politician shall be judged by their performance and adherence to that standard.

Otherwise, why bother to have a Party Platform, Rikdadik?

Gee Skip, you make a heck of a good point about the 2008 Presidential Race…and to Rikdadik, I would ask, “Hows that workin fer ya?

          • http://www.GraniteGrok.com/ Rick Olson

Oh heck, Please…[inserting yawn] people have done a heck of a lot worse to me than posting my license plate…One screwball  posted a picture on a message board of my young child entering her school….for no other reason than to intimidate me. And that’s all it was…nothing more. I lost not a lick of sleep over it.

Perhaps I am full of myself…who can really say. Certainly not you for sure. Either way, there is one certainty here….People who want to hold public office, Should not be so thin-skinned….Go and tell Julie to buck up and carry on because it “ain’t gettin’ any better.

And if your going to be a RINO Surrogate and argue like a liberal, we welcome your pseudonym here. We fully understand and acknowledge that courage is not the hallmark of your crowd. Have a great day and tell it to Oprah.

“Audacity”    /ô?dasit?/ “The willingness to take bold risks”  Check your word usage, Kevin…”audacity seems a bit ill-fitted”

Can’t Believe it?  Its there! plain as the nose on your face…just close the site and click again.
          You’ll see it them perhaps.

This doesn’t require “nerve” at all….merely showing up in Concord, with a  camera and snapping a picture of Julie’s car parked in a “very public place…seriously..

And to think we want harm to come to her? That is just bad form on your part. Go have a glass of nice cold Kool-Aid and think on it a while.

          Oh yeah, BTW….
Moron is a term once used in clinical psychology  to referring to mental retardation. and  was closely tied with the American eugenics movement… Its funny how Sangerite-Liberals give themselves away. Freudian slip, perhaps? I don’t even own a hockey helmet, Kevin.

WOW, such utter concern for the posting of the picture of Julie’s car…Perhaps she might lose the plates and forego the conspicuousness (is that a word correclty used? eh, no matter) of elected Public office. A Thot

I have not only known Julie for 40 years, but I am also a big fan of hers.  As she is in her 12th term, her constituents must feel the same way.  I can promise you that if she runs again, even with this IGNORANT (find the definition of that one too Rick) RIMO label, she will once again be elected to the House.  I say that because she has been there for 12 terms, 12 TERMS!!!
I can not believe that I am dropping to the level of you fanatics.  You use words like flippant arrogance and elitism and yet you have no spines yourselves.  Knowing this woman, she is the last thing from Elite in her mind.  What I can tell you is that she cares so much more for the people she represents than some made up word to label her.
As I have heard that a similar thing happened with someone else’s license plate that was posted and some damage that came to that individual.  What I can say is that if something were to happen to Julie in this instance, I will hold Rick Olsen personally responsible.  I always find it funny when people hide behind their keyboards or telephones.  You know those “telephone tough guys”.  They have no real spine.  All they do is type away.  You people are crazy.  If you knew the people that you choose to label personally, you might feel different when you know who they are and what their convictions really are.  Such a sad sad weak man Rick Olsen.
