The UK’s Daily Mail reported Thursday that this initiative comes from the top: “Sixty-seven dog breeds could be banned in Britain if new breeding guidelines set by parliament become mandatory, campaigners have warned.” This is because “the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) for animal welfare has launched a new tool to determine if a dog is healthy.”

“The cross-party committee has developed a 10-point checklist of extreme physical characteristics which can make for a poorly pooch. They include mottled colouration, excessive skin folds, bulging outward-turning eyes, drooping eyelids, under or overbite and a muzzle that interrupts breathing.”
And yes, the list includes the Bull Dog, as in the English Bull Dog. Brittany, Welsh Corgi, the King Charles Spaniel, and 62 others. More than a few of which, to my eye, don’t appear to fit between the guardrails, poorly defined as unhealthy. But the progs have two factions that want dogs gone, at least as household pets. The Muslims and the Climateers. One thinks dogs are dirty and that their presence will keep angels from visiting your home, while the other says dogs are a strain on the climate but really wants everyone to be as angry and lonely as they are. Besides, pets have proven to help older folks live longer, and they’d rather we were just dead. To save the planet for what? The animals, actually, as long as they aren’t the human variety.
No good arguments from the same lot as to why Earth’s evolutionary processes converged to create us, only for some of us to think they were nature’s god, which at least fits the psychological profile. Lefties are the new gods, here to overthrow the old ones, keys to utopia in hand, and all we have to do is what? Give them the same deference we’d give the old God, but without free will, free choice, or any other natural right that comes without the interpretive dance of progressive busy-bodies pretending it’s about us and not them.
Plenty of contradictions on the left, but I think we can nail the dog breed ban down to Islam’s increasing influence on idiot Marxists. There are roughly 360 recognized breeds, fewer if you’ve got a stick up your ass, which leaves 293 for creeping sharia to claim in future parliaments as somehow malformed or ill-treated or just for being dogs.
But dogs have long been an integral part of the culture and commerce of England, where there are at least 60 -90 breeds of sheep, totaling nearly 21 million bleating woolly beasties. Is there a plan to use angry liberal women in Burqas to scare the sheep into staying with the herd?
I know. Not there yet. But given the random nature of this bit of force by Parliament, assuming it actually becomes law and the Brits, Scots, Welsh, and Irish don’t deploy a modern version of the gunpowder plot, more bans ought to be expected.
I mean, you let them take your guns, your knives, your daughter’s innocence, even your memes. Is dogs a bridge too far?
