THIS is the end result of creating a modern “welfare state”

You voted for it, over and over. You wanted “free stuff” from the government. You thought “we’re a rich country, we can afford it.” You have voted crooks and fraudsters into power again and again. Now you will face the result of creating a so-called “welfare state.” Enjoy the future, suckers.

Why you need to be ready to move to New Hampshire….

"The concept of ‘welfare’ has become an open, bottomless vessel into which every desire can be poured."

Is America a “welfare state”? No. It’s a “special interest state.”And James DeLong at the American Enterprise Institute has explained why in THIS ARTICLE. What it boils down to is that the permanent political class has gained permanent power in America, governing on behalf of ubiquitous and multifarious special interests, which increasingly exist solely to loot the public treasury. Worse yet, special interests have no regard to the long-term damages and ultimate destruction that their appetites engender. In short, the iron triangle of the permanent political class, the special interests, and the dependent voters who keep them in office will eventually destroy us. That’s because…

Leftist-Progressives: Always The Dependable Deniers

“An individual, in promoting his own interest, may injure the public interest; a nation, in promoting the general welfare, may check the interest of a part of its members.” —Friedrich List

Last week the Union Leader’s Gary Rayno reported on a check made of electronic databases searching for potential welfare fraud. House Speaker Bill O’Brien is sponsoring legislation that would require Health and Human Services to cross-check recipients in an effort to save taxpayer money to root out potential welfare fraud.

Naturally, any astute observer who has long followed the conversation on public entitlements can nearly guess, as if looking into a crystal ball, what the push-back is going to look like. And true to their principles of class warfare and legalized theft, opponents of this effort are dependable.

“Germany set to tax young”

Well, the Blue Social Model of Socialism is its own Ponzi scheme – and when you run out of young people, you run out of other peoples’ money.  From the Sydney Morning Herald (reformatted here): GERMANY is proposing to levy extra taxes on the young to pay for the costs of the country’s growing numbers … Read more

Romney Advocacy For The Welfare State

“I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I’ll fix it.” —Willard “Mittens” Romney

Romney not concerned about the poor.
Willard "Mitt" Romney: The Matthew Lesko of American Politics

That is what Mittens said…and the lefties will tear him to shreds over that very statement.  Especially the class warfare artisans in the political arena. While Romney is correct  about the poor having a social welfare safety net, It is that same “safety net” that creates government dependency and self-perpetuation of a system that its’ patrons become dependent on, rather than self-sufficient and self-supporting.

The Food Stamp Nation and Its’ President

“I’d go to, like, six different schools in one year. We were on welfare, and my mom never ever worked.” —Eminem

Greetings from the Welfare State

During the Republican Presidential Debates, Newt Gingrich referred to President Obama as the, “Food Stamp President.” That was last week. Yet, over two years ago, Wyatt Emmerich, Publisher for the Northside Sun based in Jackson, Mississippi posited an editorial where his underlying thesis was, “a one-parent family of three making $14,500 a year (minimum wage) has more disposable income than a family making $60,000 a year.”  (See Emmerich’s Editorial in its entirety, Here)

Welcome To New Hampshire…Now Go Home

As New Hampshire plays it’s traditional “First In The Nation Primary” role for the  next few days, I am reminded of two things.  First, as the Live Free or Die state, no matter who ends up as either the GOP nominee or the next president, we’ll still have to act like the sovereign Republic that we are and repel the borders from progressives and big government, both inside and out, for years to come.   Second, there is what has to be my favorite New Hampshire bumper sticker; “Welcome to New Hampshire, Now Go home.” To which I would add,” unless you’d like to just move here.”

There are conditions for moving here, of course.  We consistently have some of the lowest poverty, lowest crime, and the best standard of living for a reason.  And as people speculate about our reasonably low unemployment as well, let me point out that these things are all related.   It is the secret ingredient.  It is what makes all the great things about New Hampshire possible.  The answer;  reduce the incentive for bad behavior.

If you don’t pay people a livable wage to remain unemployed, for some strange reason progressives cannot grasp, those people go find a job.  And believe it or not, this works everywhere it is tried.
