The Foundation for New Hampshire Independence

The Union is Dissolved - Civil War era secession has become popular talk of lateThis just tumbled into my in-box and perhaps it is old news now.  It is a press release from a non-profit called the Foundation for New Hampshire Independence.  I don’t currently know much more than we can glean from the press release but they’ve got a web site (here), some press, and it’s run by Neal Conner, a Ron Paul Supporter and I suspect a Free Stater…and it does have a catchy slogan…’First Before, First again.’

Incorporated in September of this year, the Foundation’s motto, “First Before, First Again”, recalls New Hampshire being the first colony to form a government separate from the British. The Foundation seeks to educate citizens on the benefits of a peaceful separation from the United States and the re-establishment of an independent republic founded on the principles set forth in the New Hampshire Constitution.

Not advocating one way or the other just following the story, having noted that secession IS the latest fad …earlier in the week.

The full press release is available on the jump.

Look For The Union Label…

ILFWU ad campaing promoted Union products in the seventies and early eighties
Look for the Union Label - for obstruction and delay in a time of crisis

That catchy tune from the 70’s/80’s ad campaign promoting Union made products might need to be re-spun with a new front man in the shadow of Hurricane Sandy.  Relief crews that drove all the way to New Jersey from Alabama were told thanks, but no thanks—we don’t want your help….because you use non-union labor.

This looks like a good time to Quote the President.

President Barack Obama vowed: “We are not going to tolerate red tape, we are not going to tolerate bureaucracy.”

Obamacare SEIU

The Daily Caller ran a story this weekend about a book set to come out tomorrow, by Mallory Factor, called “Shadowbosses: Government Unions Control America and Rob taxpayers Blind“.

The premise of the book is that Obamacare was just a big ploy to unionize the estimated 16-17 million strong healthcare workforce (12.5% of US workers, 17% of US GDP/economy – projected to reach 20%), and that by proposing an acceptable plan for nationalized/unionized healthcare, the union got behind Obama in the election of 2008, helping him win the Presidency.

But by the looks of this, Obamacare wasn’t just about healthcare, in the same way that “sustainability” isn’t just about the environment…

The Union Narrative on The Arrest Of Walker Supporter at Barret-Clinton Event

AP Photo I’ve received a few comments on my previous post about the Barret rally at which a US Marine protester was removed and arrested.  The commenters are making a case that David Willoughby was cursing and presented a threat to the Mayor and former President Clinton, which the Milwaukee Police News documents as follows.

David B. Willoughby, 39, of West Allis, was issued a municipal citation for disorderly conduct when he refused to comply with Milwaukee Police orders to step back from his location where he was waving a large wooden pole with a sign mounted on it. Given his proximity to Mayor Tom Barrett and other dignitaries, officers believed he posed a threat with the large sign and was asked to move back.

I think this is basically a load of crap.

A Silber In The Minds Eye

So in the face of this economic catastrophe, which the democrats happily sold as a disaster not unlike a Biblical plague, what did NH Democrats do? They decided that despite that we were going to take in 23% more revenue than we did when times were “good” and went on a grow government spending spree. You could call that a revenue problem, but I think it is really more of a democrats are selfish, ideological, tax and spend A-holes problem.

2012 Can’t Come Fast Enough

The Sunday Union Leader had a letter to the editor titled "2012 can’t come fast enough."  It suggests that New Hampshire did not vote for a majority and leadership intent on stripping collective bargaining agreements from 70,000 New Hampshire workers…" which is a number I would contest given this data.  (Where we may be hiding 70,000 public sector union workers is a question worth exploring, but not right now.)

The author is Kevin Foley.  Kevin is a great guy.   We worked together at UPS for a number of years, he was a driver, and I was a package car loader–including his.  But Kevin has been a well paid union organizer with the Teamsters for years, as an IBT Business agent, and earns more than double the national average in income and compensation for the privilege. Kudos to Kevin for the sweet gig.  I bet he works hard for it.

Kevin has donated hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars to democrats and the local Teamster PAC–(Granite State Teamsters DRIVE) which supports the national union and democrat candidates in the state (one local example from NH S.o.S.); the same ones who grew state government, added public union employees, some of whose dues pay Kevin’s salary, and the same democrats who left us with a nearly one billion dollar budget deficit as a result.

Finally, Someone put this in an Ad

I’ve been saying this for how long?  Now I get to see it in a political ad.  Sweet.   H/T to Matt at Red Hampshire

Charlie Bass…”Leader of the PAC”

400019-100px.jpg According to this posting on BlueHampshire.com (yes, we give credit/link when we reference the Libs’ blogs, even though they don’t credit us), Charlie Bass leads the "pack" in NH CD-2 for…wait for it… PAC campaign donations.  41% of total, to be clear.

Even before you see the evidence, do you really doubt this claim?  You shouldn’t.

Aside from Altria (formerly Philip-Morris), and the Republican Majority for Choice, one of Charlie’s more notable PAC contributors is the Republican Main Street Partnership PAC.  Charlie has been the President and CEO, as well as Board Member, of the self-described "centrist" group that this PAC supports.  The RMSP PAC also states that they are an "incumbent protection PAC".

Dudes!  Don’t you see the anti-incumbency storm coming on, hard and fast??  Every time I read about the squishy RMSP, I see more and more cluelessness.

I just checked the RMSP website and I no longer see Charlie listed as the President, as they recently elected Tom Davis (R-VA) to this position.  And, I find it odd that he disappears completely from the leadership of this organization during a primary race, when moderates all run right, and Charlie irreverently claims to be a "Conservative".  Perhaps he’s running stealthy and under cover?
