We just celebrated the 248th celebration of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence! Happy Birthday, America! I am sure you know that the Declaration of Independence was meant to be a list of grievances leveled against Great Britain for her being “deaf to the Voice of Justice.

Pulpit Polity: Richard Stockton
Hello, Friends of Freedom. I hope your summer is amazing! Let’s continue our look at the Declaration’s signers. Richard Stockton was the first signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey and was perhaps the one who suffered the most for doing so. He was captured by the British and tortured severely in prison.
Pulpit Polity: Dr. Benjamin Rush
We are heading into the celebration of our country’s birth. July 4th is fast upon us! As we reflect on this great day, let us remember the men who sacrificed so much to give us birth as free people.
Pulpit Polity: The Only Catholic to Sign The Declaration of Independence
I hope your Memorial Day Celebrations were filled with honor and respect for our fallen warriors. May we never forget the millions of men and women who have given their lives so that we may enjoy our freedom today.
Pulpit Polity: Patrick Henry
Patrick Henry was an American politician, planter, and renowned orator. He was also a great patriot and signer of the Declaration of Independence. As a founding Father, he served as the first and sixth post-colonial Governor of Virginia from 1776-1779 and 1784-1786.
What Makes Good Government?
Hello, Friends of Freedom,
Let’s continue this week on our observance of what makes “GOOD GOVERNMENT.” Last week we discussed the foundation of all good government is TRUTH. This week, let’s look at another issue in line with truth. MORALY IN LEGISLATION.
Church and State, Part II
Hello, Friend of Freedom! First off, let me wish you a Merry Christmas! I know some of you may choose other holidays to celebrate and not choose to celebrate Christmas, and some of you will not celebrate at all. Hey, that’s why is great to be in America! We have the freedom to celebrate our faith as expressed for centuries, and we have the freedom to do nothing at all.
From George Washington to Pearl Harbor, God was Honored in our Military
This past Thursday marks the 82nd anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. December 7, 1941, was described by then-President Franklin Roosevelt as “a date that will live in infamy.” This attack happened on a Sunday, and it is interesting to see the schedule for the crew on the ships: 0745- Rig for Church … Read more
The American Dream
Hello, Friends of Freedom. I hope your Thanksgiving was everything you desired and more. This week I want to examine the patriarch Joseph in scripture and his prevalent role in leading a secular nation as a man of faith. His historical account is found in Genesis 39-41.
Pulpit Polity: The ‘First’ Thanksgiving!
Most readers of Granite Grok were exposed to the traditional story of the Pilgrims and the Indians sharing a meal on Thanksgiving to God for their success and survival in the new world settlement of Plymouth Plantation.
1639 and the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut – The First Written Constitution in America
Thomas Hooker: Founder of Connecticut. You read that correctly, and it is a historical fact that a Pastor founded the State of Connecticut and was influential in writing the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, which some have called the world’s first written democratic constitution establishing a representative government.
Pulpit Polity: The Founding Fathers, and Prayer
We have been discussing the role of prayer in the founding of our great country, not just from the early clergy but the Founding Fathers themselves. This week, let’s take a look at the many times the Founding Fathers, not the clergy, declared a day of prayer and fasting for a crisis that was threatening the nation.
Pulpit Polity – George Washington, Faith, and God
This week, I want to examine the place of prayer in perhaps the most influential American ever, George Washington. His name and character have been revered not only in America but throughout the world. Washington was perhaps the most unique political leader we have ever had in our nation.
Pulpit Polity – Prayers and the Governing of Our Nation
This week, let’s look at the role that prayer played in the founding of our nation and is still a part of our civil ceremonies, but I might add, forbidden in our public schools.
Pulpit Polity – “That Book, Sir, Is the Rock Upon Which Our Republic Rests.”
This week, I want us to examine the thinking of some of our most important Founding Fathers and Presidents in regard to the place that the Bible has influence in the governing of our nation. The period of the first 150 years of our country’s founding is significant because the foundation was being laid for the building of a nation.
Pulpit Polity – One of Thomas Jefferson’s Revolutionary Inspirations
There were so many important voices during the Revolution that founded our great country. Politicians, Lawyers, Doctors, and, of course, Clergymen! In fact, the brightest stars of the Revolution were the voices of ardent clergymen whose hearts set on freedom for all men and whose tongues were swords of truth to set the captives free!
Pulpit Polity – The Parsons Rebellion
In the inception of our nation, Pastors played a key role. Unfortunately, that is often overlooked in the annals of recorded history. This week, I want to focus on that role as recorded in history from various sources.
Pulpit Polity – Faith, Education, and America’s Founding
Many of us know and are experiencing an intense battle for TRUTH in the public forum of our National politics. The truth about the character of our leaders. The truth about the natural design of the human race. The truth about medical practices and health issues.
