We learned that today we were able to finish up all of the leftover 2023 retained House bills and were successful in passing some really good bills… and killed some bad ones, too. It was a good two days!

So Kids, What Did We Learn From This Week’s House Session (03/23/23)?
We learned that it was a very disappointing day for House Republicans and we lost many good bills either to Inexpedient To Legislate (ITL) or to the Table, and had some really bad bills move onto the Senate. House Democrats had many wins. Again, numbers matter.
So Kids, What Did We Learn From This Week’s House Session (Feb 22-23)?
We learned that when Republicans show up and stay for the session, we can stop bad bills and move along good ones. That was the main theme throughout the 2-day voting marathon. Apparently, we were still unable to stop some very bad bills, too (read on).

So Kids, What Did We Learn From Thursday’s House Session (01/06/22)?
We learned that an impending Friday snowstorm can motivate roughly 400 legislators to work through 70 bills in 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday).
So Kids, What Did We Learn From Wednesday’s House Session (01/05/22)?
We learned that 400 legislators (along with House staff) can fit comfortably, socially distanced, in the Manchester DoubleTree Expo Center and get important work done, despite difficult acoustics. Well, at least the Senate is utilizing the newly, and beautifully, renovated Reps Hall in Concord.
So Kids, What Did We Learn From The NH House Session (02/24/21)?
We learned that the 50,000 sq ft. Sportsplex in Bedford, with its climate control and astroturf, is a great place to stretch out comfortably and safely accommodates 400 State Reps, much to the dismay of the Democrat Caucus.

We learned that Veto Day can be a satisfying endeavor even for the Minority Party Republicans and that saving NH from radical legislation can be fun and rewarding.

We learned that the NH State House of Representatives can still concur on really bad legislation even when voting stations are inoperative.
