Add another log to the fire that is “Get Money Out of Politics” Group Silent After PAC Commits 23 Million to One Dem Senator”

Pile-Of-MoneyYeah, Democrats are all about getting money out of politics – until they aren’t.  From billionaire Tom Steyer in Steve’s post to this one:

All In: Mike Bloomberg To Dump $80 Million To Try To Buy The House For Democrats

Michael R. Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, has decided to throw his political clout and personal fortune behind the Democratic campaign to take control of the House of Representatives this year, directing aides to spend tens of millions of dollars in an effort to expel Republicans from power.

America’s Democrat Anti-Gun Mayors Enhance Crime

“Crime when it succeeds is called virtue.”   —Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Democrat-CorruptionOn February 7, 2012, I wrote, “America’s Democrat Mayors Ruining The Country For Decades. The entry followed Kurt Badenhausen’s article in Forbes detailing America’s ten most miserable cities.

Badenhausen examined America’s largest metropolitan areas with a  minimum population of 256,000 people and  ranked each area on factors consisting of,  1) average unemployment rate between 2009 and 2011; 2) median commute times to work for 2010 based on U.S. Census data; 3)violent crimes per capita from the FBI’s 2010 Uniform Crime Report; 4) how pro sports teams fared in the area over the past three completed seasons.

Black Market Bloomberg

smoking - what about the tobacco taxes in New Hampshire

New York City Mayor Mike ‘Big Gulp’ Bloomberg has proposed raising the smoking age in New York City from 18 to 21 years of age.  A companion proposal would hike the price of a pack of cigarettes to more than ten dollars per pack, presumably to a) convince more people to quit and b) recover revenue lost by prohibiting a big chunk of the tax base from paying taxes on cigarettes they are no longer permitted to smoke.

But how does New York’s evil super genius plan to recover the revenue lost to the expansion of the black market?

Dean Trefethen – Dover, Only NH Mayor To Stand with Nanny Bloomberg

First, thanks to Kathleen LaBonte, who pointed out in the comments for this post, ‘Legal Gun Owners Against Stupid Gun Grabbing Mayors,‘ that Dover, New Hampshire Mayor Dean Trefethen is the only mayor in all of New Hampshire to climb on board Mike ‘Buckshot’ Bloomberg’s anti-gun owner clown car.

Mayor dean Trefethen of Dover NH

Trefethen has signed on to “mayorsagainstillegalguns.org.”

Really?  Mayors Against Illegal Guns?  Illegal guns.  Bloomberg is such an arrogant ass.  Every law abiding gun owner is against illegal guns so I’m reasonably certain (reasonably) that every mayor is as well; except perhaps for Chicago’s  Rahm Emanuel of the ‘please just don’t touch the children fame,’ who may be the only U.S. mayor on public record for demonstrating that it is possible for a cities chief executive to couch gun related gang violence in terms of when he’s really really REALLY against illegal gun use.  Hey- No shooting at each other when there are kids around?  Got it?

Jonah caught the stupid point – ignored the far more important point

Far be it for me to correct NRO’s Jonah Goldberg, best selling author of TWO books on Progressives (“Tyranny of Cliches” & “Liberal Fascism“) when commenting on something in the news, but I think he went for the “ha-ha” and missed the “ewwww”:

From the Washington Post’s profile of Bloomberg:

NEW YORK — Michael Bloomberg, America’s most prominent and deep-pocketed advocate for gun control, would rather rehabilitate Republicans than oust them.

“Somebody got them the way they are now,” the mayor of New York said in a recent interview as he sat in the bullpen offices of City Hall, surrounded by a buzzing staff, blinking Bloomberg terminals and clocks telling the same time in each of the five boroughs. “Why can’t you change them?”

Who knew that the worst part of crossing the Brooklyn Bridge is the jet lag.   I wonder if the mayor has ever said something like, “I’ve got to call the Queens Borough president. What time is it over there?”

Hmm, what caught my eye was much worse than an ignorant reporter (the WaPo dude, not Jonah that caught him being stupid) – bringing the “ewwww” factor:
