Bow Public School, Free Speech Suppression,’The Streisand Effect,’ and Getting Sued

A local High school banned parents from attending games for wearing pink wristbands with two Xs. The school reportedly stopped the game and had them escorted out. [W]hen several parents showed up to watch Tuesday night’s soccer game between Bow and Plymouth Regional High School wearing pink armbands as symbols of support for girls-only sports, … Read more

Another Front in The Global War on Free Speech

America is unique for many reasons, not the least of which is its First Amendment. No nation codifies a right to free speech as protected from government regulation the way we do. Thou Shalt not (Thou, being the government) make laws abridging the freedom of speech or the press. It’s quite encompassing, as is the … Read more

Free Speech and the Department of Political Justice

In 1966, two famous Russian literary dissidents, Yuli Daniel and Andrei Sinyavsky, were tried and convicted on charges of disseminating propaganda against the Soviet state. The two were authors and humorists who published satire abroad that mocked Soviet leaders for failure to comply with the Soviet Constitution of 1936, which guaranteed the freedom of speech. … Read more

So, If Violence Is Acceptable to Stop Campus Speech …

It has always been the purview of campus critters to engage in violence to silence speech they’d rather not hear. This is an odd view because, in truth, it is to stop speech they don’t want anyone else to hear. As a conscientious objector, they could stay home and play video games or watch reality … Read more

Enabling a ‘Brutus’ to Slay the Elon Musk ‘Caesar’

In the Washington Post on Monday, the headlines read: Musk and Durov are facing the revenge of the regulators. Former US Labor Secretary, Robert Reich, in the British Guardian newspaper, published a piece on how to “rein-in” Elon Musk, suggesting that “regulators around the world should threaten Musk with arrest” on lines of that which befell Pavel Durov recently … Read more

Kamala Harris Will Shut Down X If Elected

Kamala Harris has been a prosecutor, a statewide district attorney, and vice president. Each position claims to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and yet, you have to wonder if Kamala Harris has ever read the document. She certainly has not gotten to the section called The Bill of Rights because she has no … Read more

Tyranny in the UK – Can it Happen Here?

As the UK descends into tyranny, where just re-Tweeting something the government doesn’t like can land a person a multi-year jail sentence, Americans are wondering, “can it happen here?” After all, we have the guarantees of the First Amendment. But while we shake our heads at UK authorities jailing people for their social media posts … Read more

NH’s Next Test Case for Suppressing Speech?

In the summer of 2023, the Attorney General’s office went out of its way to turn a trespassing charge (that was also thrown out) into a violation of NH Civil Rights Law. My assumption was that they were searching for a judicial ruling that would create a wedge to suppress free speech.  Disregarding how offensive … Read more

If Speech is Violence, What is Silence, Again?

With few exceptions, college campuses are America’s least intellectually diverse places. If not for the federal takeover of student loans, which has laundered billions into the hands of progressive experts, that might matter, as they feel the same pinch as local print-news media—another vestigial cultural affectation we no longer need. You can get news – … Read more

Pre-Crime Laws and Predictive Policing

Adding the word hate to crime is a way for prosecutors to pile on charges in search of more significant fines and longer sentences. It is an injustice. Its other more critical function is to make people afraid to speak openly for fear of stumbling across the ever-moving hate speech trip wire, which is a … Read more

Exeter High School Officials Lied in “Only Two Genders” Case

In the halcyon days of 2021, the Exter School District made all sorts of news. In June, we broke a story that went national about how the High School managed unvaccinated prom attendees. And why not? The Exeter Regional School District already had a long line of embarrassing reports exposing its woke, anti-liberty tendencies (and lawsuits … Read more

If I’m Not Entitled to My Opinion I am a Slave to Yours

There is no shortage of content regarding the sanctity of free speech. Liberty by any name is impossible without it, and we know that Free Speech includes the right to be wrong because the government, exercising its right to unbridled expression, is wrong proudly and often. So, when the government or its advocates insist your opinion should be … Read more

Capitalism Versus Free Speech

In the make-believe, fairy-tale world that people like Joe Sweeney, Ross Berry, Mikey Graham, Drew Cline, the Koch-bots, and the libertarians (an incomplete list) espouse, Big Business ALWAYS acts in their financial self-interest, which ultimately benefits everyone. EXCEPT Big Business does NOT act in such a manner.
