California Sanctuary State

Blogline of the Day – the equivalent of Mrs. O’Leary offering milk from her cow to the newly homeless of Chicago

GREAT MOMENTS IN HOLLOW GESTURES: State Senator who authored California’s ‘sanctuary state’ bill sends condolences to family of slain officer. It would have been better if California  sent word that he was going to repeal that law that took the life of that policeman by the illegal alien and criminal gang member. (H/T: Instapundit, Chicago reference … Read more

6 and a half is the new 7. Or something.

So, this guy, Democrat Jon Morgan, seated in this photo to the left (“to the left”; ha, made myself laugh) of Democrat House Candidate Liz McDonnell, one of the Moms Demand Action girls, publicly stated at an October 29, 2018 campaign event in Brentwood, NH that he only returned to live in NH for “about … Read more

California’s Poison Your Friends and Family Plan

Given all I’ve written about MS-13, opioids, and sanctuary cities and states lately, this cartoon boils the California problem down to a national defense issue. We can’t secure the border, address the opioid crisis, or any of the gang violence it perpetuates as long as California is a conduit for drugs, gang members, and the cartels that … Read more

Will EPA End California “Tax” on Everyone Else’s Automobiles?

Green Car

For years California’s higher mileage requirements for passenger vehicles have forced manufacturers to offset those costs with higher prices for car buyers all across the nation. But the EPA is dumping Obama CAFE standards for model years 2022-2025 defaulting to the current average of 34.5 mpg.

A legal fight is expected from CAFE-Clingers and Brownistas in Kalinfornistan.

Government Induced Drought

Policies started by Moonbeam Jerry Brown and enforced by environmental allies since the ’70s have born fruit, more foreign fruit, less California fruit, and general misery for the left coasters.

Bette Midler California Bag Ban – No, It’s Not About Plastic Surgery

If ever you needed proof that some celebrities are dopes then the recent effort by a cast of millionaire limousine liberals to help pass a state wide bag ban in California should serve.  No, it’s not a bill to require plastic surgery, it would make the misnamed single use plastic grocery bag extinct across the left-coast utopia.   But despite Hollywood has-been Bette Midler leading the charge the bill fell three-votes short in the state legislature.

Midler, who prefers the state force consumers to use the bacteria collecting, non-recyclable, foreign made “reusable” bags, was less than pleased by the result.

Maybe You Can’t Keep Your Doctor?

Doctor's leaving parctice because of government regulations

California has always thought of itself as the Earth Mother of cultural fads.  But what about the socialized health care fad?

Remember when Mr. Obama and any Democrat worth their talking points was telling us that with their Health Care Plan we could keep our doctor?  If that were true then why is California planning for a shortage of Doctors because of Obama-Care?  Their population growth is anemic, dropping to about 1% a year, and that includes immigration. (OK. Maybe not illegal immigration.)  So the only reason to need more doctors, or in this case more people with a name tag that says they are a ‘doctor’ is if real doctors are doing the boot scoot boogie away from the new regime?

I’m a Doctor, You’re a Doctor, He’s a Doctor….

…She’s a Doctor, wouldn’t you like to be a doctor too?Dr pepper

You might be a doctor and you didn’t even know it, because that is how you solve a doctor shortage caused by oppressive legislation in the peoples Republik of (in this case) Kalifornia.  Not enough “Doctors”… change the definition of doctor and Bam! Problem solved.

As a result of Obamacare and its expansion of coverage to millions, many states will begin to experience doctor shortages. California is dealing with this problem by redefining who is a “doctor.”

State lawmakers are working on legislation that would permit physician assistants and nurse practitioners to set up independent practices. Pharmacists and optometrists could now act as “primary care” providers.

Humor with a lesson: Where would you rather be: California or Texas?

CALIFORNIA:  The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor’s dog, then bites the Governor.

 1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie “Bambi” and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

2. He calls animal control. Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.

3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.

4. The Governor goes to a hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and getting his bite wound bandaged.

5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while the Fish & Game Commission conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous      animals.
