Wealth tax is dangerous to the economic present and future of states which implement it. States know their revenue streams have taken a hit. In New Hampshire, the shortfall will be half to three-quarters of a billion dollars. The upcoming legislative session will be a test.
We’ve written about different entities (nations, States) trying to go “beyond” the normal types of taxes (re: income, property, dividends, capital gains, et al) for years. We’ve even mentioned the rather stupid ideas of instituting wealth taxes (not just what you’ve earned but your aggregate net worth collected over time).
Someone shared an off-group conversation on the Grok Facebook Group page in which someone advocated for shooting people in public who are not wearing a mask. They have no problem shooting anyone on the street without a mask, while over in CA, a month after their statewide mask mandate, cases are up 160%.
