Former Dem State Senator Cuffed – Off To Jail To Serve His 30 Days

For those who might still be following the tale of former New Hampshire State Senator Jeff Woodburn’s effort to avoid serving jail time, that story has come to a close. Mr. Woodburn was commanded to appear in court to be ordered to serve his time and escorted out in handcuffs yesterday.

Mr. Woodburn’s wild ride began in 2018 when someone other than the victim reported him to the “authorities” for alleged domestic violence. Woodburn admitted to anger issues and several of the accusations for which he was indicted but then proceeded to do his level best not to serve the jail time he earned as a result.

The accusation divided North Country politics for a while. You can get caught up here.

In recent years, Woodburn has used many tactics to avoid serving his sentence, but switching lawyers was the most common. All those tricks, appeals, and motions have finally ended. Jeff will be out and about before Halloween, after which he can address his self-inflicted court problems in Maine.
