Senate Confirms RFKJ as New HHS Sec.

By a vote of 52-48, the US Senate has confirmed Robert F. Kenedy Jr. as the ew Director of the Federal Department of Health and Human Services. Cocaine Mitch was the lone Republican holdout.

“…Vice President Mike Pence’s organization, Advancing American Freedom, had been urging senators to vote against confirming Kennedy Jr. over his past stances in support of abortion. However, Kennedy Jr. seemed to assuage concerns among conservatives with his pledge to abide by Trump’s priorities, which he said included ending late-term abortions and cutting federal funding for the procedures.

By Wednesday, the Senate broke the filibuster on the Kennedy Jr. nomination via a 53-47 vote along party lines. That happened shortly after the Senate confirmed Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat who has also clashed with her old party, to become Director of National Intelligence by a 52-48 vote. Like with Kennedy Jr., McConnell was the sole GOP lawmaker to vote against Gabbard’s nomination.”

Congrats to RFKJ, whom I declared should be the head of DHHS way back when folks were mulling the idea of him as Trump’s VP. I put the kibosh on that but fantasized about how he might clean up the Health Care Industrial Complex and the conflicts of interest between Big Pharma and its regulators.

Dream come true?

We have to wait and see, but in related news, Tulsi Gabbard got confirmed as the DNI this week as well.

Mr. Trump is getting the cabinet he asked for, and given how hard he’s put the deep state back on its heels in three weeks without a full bench, I look forward to seeing what happens next.
