Back in March, people were considering whether Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would make a great (and presumably) unifying pick for vice president. We shared those musings to invite debate, but RFKJ has far too many liberal positions with which I disagree to have him a heartbeat from the presidency.
That was in March, and while VP wasn’t on my table, something else was.
We let our authors write about whatever they want—almost anything—because we know the readers will tell them what they think. Two recent examples include a trial balloon suggesting Tulsi Gabbard as Trump’s VP and, a few months prior, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the same job. Both are too liberal in too many other ways, so it’s a big no for me.
But the Federal Government is a big place, and while a heartbeat away is a no-go, what about something with a bit more distance? …
Wouldn’t it be the best thing ever if he nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services? I realize that Kennedy’s ascension to the gig would be another hurdle (similar to the one just described), but this is a dream sequence, so go with it. The smoke clears. He gets the job, and Trump says, welcome to the team, no go clean that shit up.
Boom! Trump just named RFKJ as Secretary of Health and Human Services!
I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health. The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country. Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!
Blob forces are aligning to deny Trump his appointments, Matt Gaetz for AG being the most obvious, but I hear they have a plan to get around that. Recess appointments have been all the rage, and it seems likely that’ll get them Gaetz for two years, but you can’t recess appoint your entire cabinet. And while some of the nominees will breeze through, the dark forces will apply pressure to Senators to protect “It” from anyone who might cause too much trouble for business as usual. There are more than a few of those, and RFKJ is one of them.
Expect things to get interesting.
