Nina Jankowicz didn’t exactly have her rhetorical 15 minutes of fame, but she was a household name for a hot minute, which she has milked into a career thanks to the Handmaiden media. The ‘Jank’ went from obscure to front page when she was appointed to lead the Biden Administration’s Disinformation Governance Board. A construct that NH did not join in opposition to oppose. One with deep ties to progressive-funded NGOs supporting it.
Happily for us, and a heartbeat later, the board was disbanded. Enough of post-COVID America was already fed up with this idea. That the government would use force to run cover for its own disinformation campaigns rebranded as truth.
The players, with the eager assistance of the media, decided to keep doing it. Still, that cover evaporated with the Twitter Files, a handful of lawsuits, public discontent carried over from COVID, and now the election of Donald Trump. The guy the proglodytes keep calling Hilter and fascist issued a Fatwa prohibiting the Feds from silencing Americans’ free speech or spending tax dollars to do it.
Sec. 2. Policy. It is the policy of the United States to: (a) secure the right of the American people to engage in constitutionally protected speech;
(b) ensure that no Federal Government officer, employee, or agent engages in or facilitates any conduct that would unconstitutionally abridge the free speech of any American citizen;
(c) ensure that no taxpayer resources are used to engage in or facilitate any conduct that would unconstitutionally abridge the free speech of any American citizen; and
(d) identify and take appropriate action to correct past misconduct by the Federal Government related to censorship of protected speech.
Sec. 3. Ending Censorship of Protected Speech. (a) No Federal department, agency, entity, officer, employee, or agent may act or use any Federal resources in a manner contrary to section 2 of this order.
States, counties, cities, and towns will continue to do their darndest to suppress your First Amendment right and to be at least as wrong as the federal government, preferring to use lawfare to force you to defend the right rather than just let you exercise it. Tyranny never sleeps, yes? But President Trump’s order has received praise from many quarters, not (please act surprised) from Frau Jankowicz or the dying media that spreads her disinformation like manure on a field.
“Disinformation is not a partisan issue; it’s a democracy issue,” Jankowicz said in a statement. “America’s adversaries benefit when our country is internally divided and politically polarized.”
This is not just misinformation but disinformation. Before the annulment of Nina’s Federal marriage to the censorship industrial complex – she is still highly co-dependent – Democracy did just fine. Even without that internet thing, people – including the government – flapped their lips and jawed about whatever crossed their minds for the betterment of the greatest nation in human history.
That’s America for the proglodytes.
And the idea that free speech creates division is simply retarded. Disagreeing is as much a right as any other. Being wrong, arguing a position, expressing an opinion, and allowing a response are the nexus of all progress. That science is never settled, nor are the cultural norms, truths, or habits that change from generation to generation.
No matter how much we change the world, people are still people, which is why the natural rights enumerated in the US Constitution, for example, must remain inviolable. You are born with an inherent right to defend your person from attack. To believe whatever faith you choose. To gather with others and to speak out against any tyranny as long as doing it does not deprive others of these same rights.
Progs like Jankovich serve a world where you not only do not have a right to property you do not have a right to yourself. COVID proved that to millions who would have otherwise never discovered that truth. And if you can’t own anything, including yourself, nothing that self thinks or says belongs to it.
Donald Trump has, at least for the next few years, freed us from that Federal tyranny (at least on paper), but it is only good if you defend it too, and then only until the next election. And then the one after that, and so on.
You don’t have to agree with Trump or Republicans on everything or anything, but it should bother you that Democrats and a few never-Trumpers will try to take those rights away the first chance they get. And not just from people you disagree with.
