WE’RE USED TO HAVING PEOPLE IN THE USA WHO DON’T WANT TO BE AMERICANS – WE CALL THEM PROGRESSIVES:
Go ahead, give me the names of “Progressives,” in this partisan environment, that agree that the America that our Founders envisioned is the one they want – and legislate. I doubt very much you’d find many, especially if you point out that the Founders TOLD us what the Proper Role of Government is supposed to be:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men
Simple – protect our Liberties. Not to “help people when in need.” Nor “to legislate behavior.”
From the time of President Woodrow Wilson, one of the early “Progressives” (who HATED the US Constitution) through FDR (another “Progressive), that highly expanded what the Government would do even as the Constitution didn’t give the Federal Government explicit permission to do so. Fast forward to LBJ, Nixon, Bush, and Obama. Yes, Progressives were determined to remake the Federal Government in their image.
And each time they did so, guess what happened?
Yeah, our Liberties and Freedoms were reduced. Every time.
Exactly what Socialists demand – that Government is superior and citizens must be inferior. And that’s who Progressives are. Remember, Progressives ALWAYS want that – that we are inferior and that the “Common Good” must always be superior.
And who, of course, who will be in charge?
Our Founders desired that WE should be primary and that the government should be in the background.
