Abortion, Reproduction…What’s In A Word

I tuned in to MSNBC on Saturday morning to see what was on its agenda and because I heard they needed viewers. Since the election, only friends and family have tuned in to MSNBC and CNN. Things are so bad that Rachel Maddow had to take a pay cut to $25 million for her one-day-a-week appearance. Both networks are bleeding viewers like a cut to the forehead, and the talking heads have yet to realize they are the problem. The first story was about abortion rights, then a commercial for abortion rights, and coming out of the commercial to a quick criticism of the Trump tariffs and a discussion proving neither celebrity had a clue about their purpose. I divert; I don’t want to discuss the falling ratings of Left-Wing propaganda but the way the Left uses semantics to promote its agenda while disguising the horror of the same.

The words that caught my attention were all the abortion bans since the overturn of Roe v. Wade. This practice is a tactic the Left uses often. They inject a false term into their argument to fortify their side. If your argument relies on a false premise, you have lost the debate. To be accurate, there are no states that have enacted a complete ban on abortions. If you search state bans, you will come across an interestingly worded phrase: Since Roe was overturned in 2022, 14 states have enacted near-total abortion bans. I call that an editorial factoid meant to influence your perception of the answer.

The first story on MSNBC aimed to draw attention to what they see as a serious and deadly problem in Texas. Texas has not published infant birth mortality rates since 2022 in the Lone Star State. MSNBC claims this was done to mask the potentially huge increase in birth mortalities of the mother or child since pregnant women do not have the option of abortion in Texas. The three on the panel had no facts, but their inference was that the mother and child had been placed in danger since it was no longer convenient to kill the unborn fetus.

Having no facts or seeding stories with mistruths is a favorite method of stoking emotions, which is really what the Democrat Party is built on. They love to hang their banner on abortion because it resonates with their base. They have nothing else to cite as favorable policies. The migration of Democrat supporters to Republican candidates is evidence of this lack of touch with American’s needs.

Talk over the weekend has turned to Alexandria Cortez being considered a presidential candidate in 2028. Chronologically, Cortez will be old enough to run for president in 2028, but that does not make her intelligent, politically astute, or mature enough to lead America. Cortez’s consideration shows the lack of depth in the Democrat Party and why they need to rely on semantics and lies to attract and motivate supporters. Leadership is not a play on words but improving the lives of all. There is only one party with a plan, and it is not the Democrats.
