Isn’t ‘Not Getting’ Raped Or Murdered a “Women’s Rights” Issue?

Jeff Childer’s Coffee & Covid is a regular read for me, and today, he focused on reports that a majority of early voting was by women. That’s the media spin. There is a gender gap in early voting, and this is a good look for Kamala, probably because they believe that women (especially younger women) will vote for abortion at the expense of all else.

I’m not sure that’s true, but Dems did well in 2020, brushed aside a Red wave in 2022, and dove into 2024 with abortion on the tip of their campaign spear. For all the trouble in the world – caused by the party claiming to defend abortion rights – young women seem inclined to take that bait.

Childers did us the service of a reminder.

Twelve-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray never even got the chance to have her first abortion. In June, she walked into a convenience store in Houston and disappeared. A couple weeks later, she was found dead in a creek.

Houston Police arrested two Venezuelan men who’d recently arrived in the country via Biden’s underground expressway. Both illegals face capital murder charges and are being held on a $10 million bond.

That’s abortion after her 144th month of life, give or take.

And Jocelyn’s rights should mean something, as would the other women Jeff cataloged – victims of unvetted criminal aliens who came across the border and raped and murder American women.

The Threat Is Worse Than You Can Imagine

RealClear Wire Reports that,

The problem of criminal aliens is not just limited to the border. Between FY2017-2020, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested more than 480,000 aliens with criminal convictions or pending charges on their record. By contrast, in the first three years of the Biden-Harris administration, such arrests dropped to just around 165,000, despite the historic numbers of illegal aliens crossing the border. Likewise,  the Trump administration removed more than 604,000 criminal aliens from FY2017-2020, while the Biden-Harris administration only removed around 158,000 from FY2021-2023 (ICE data for FY2024 has not yet been publicly released). Additionally, removals of gang members last year were down 40% from their peak during the Trump administration.

These numbers have dropped because the Biden-Harris administration tied the hands of law enforcement. According to guidance issued by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in September 2021, ICE personnel cannot “rely on the fact of conviction … alone” in deciding whether to detain a suspected criminal alien, a statement that one federal judge ruled in 2022 “flips the presumption of detention on its head.”

It should come as no surprise, then, that ICE’s Non-Detained Docket has exploded to well over 7.4 million individuals – up from just around 3.2 million at the end of FY2020. Among these millions are nearly 650,000 aliens with criminal backgrounds, including more than 13,000 convicted murderers, 15,000 with sexual assault convictions, and more than 62,000 convicted of assault.

Gangs are taking over apartment complexes, drug operations are killing kids, and there’s a rise in foreign sex predators raping children, among whom are girls and women. Voting for Democrats is only making that problem worse, which ought to be of some concern. While the question of the personhood of the unborn is suspect to the abortion-voting block, that of living, breathing children and adults ought not to be.

Does their life not have value, or is that also a metric filtered through the abortion issue?

Crime is up, and women are increasingly victims or living in a world where they live in fear of becoming one. Democrat policy is directly responsible for that, too, as policies that have turned Democrat-run cities into war zones are laid out across the nation.

Predators are using the Democrat’s open-bathroom/locker-room transgender policy to gain access to vulnerable girls and women. A hill to die on for the left that exposes women to a significant risk of rape, especially in prison.

I know – if you live to have an unplanned pregnancy …

The media has done all it can to hide the reality from women who aren’t faced with it quite yet, so perhaps they can be excused for voting early (and often?) to end a pregnancy in the third trimester (which is what that vote comes down to in my state). A third-trimester procedure most women oppose and much of the world prohibits. Something that, were it even necessary, is not beyond available for less time and trouble than a day trip.

And still, this appears to be a winning issue for Democrats, but is it because “abortion,” or because they’ve hidden the genuine and growing danger to girls and women that comes with voting for Democrats for that reason alone?
