Steve has been doing yeoman’s work on election reporting; his latest, the “almost done” report, Harris at 226 and Trump at 292 Electoral College votes (scheduled for this morning). Well, last night, Arizona and Nevada were finally called by Decision Desk HQ, so we have the final blowout result that I (staying up until 3 am Wednesday morning) was expecting would happen:
Ayup, that’s a blowout: 312 to 226. In fact, compared to the silliest bravado of the Biden-Harris ascension in 2020, they maintained that their administration had a national mandate to do as they wished.
Now, look at that again: 312 for Trump and 226 for Kacklin’ Kamala. While the Coastal Collectivist States are still intact, the “vaunted” Blue Wall rustbelt northern States were obliterated. In fact, while Illinois isn’t going to go even purple anytime soon, it is only by the merest grace of “I’m not serving” Walz that his part of the Wall didn’t fade.
And to steal/plagiarize a most famous phrase from a movie that most under 30 won’t recognize:
