Dems Ran on Abortion in NH and Lost Bigly

Democrats and their PACs spent a lot of money on Television in the Granite State. The message? Fear MAGA Republicans in the New Hampshire legislature and vote Democrat to protect Abortion rights. New Hampshire voters decided not to listen or there were matters more pressing on their minds, abortion not being one of them.

That actually makes sense. Even among young women – the target demographic – few will ever want or need an abortion, and among those, even fewer still will need one after six months or because of some third-trimester medical emergency.

Abortion is easily accessible here whether we like that or not, and New Hampshire is surrounded by blue states a short drive away (at least one of which has stricter laws).

I don’t suppose they had anything else to work with, and Abortion was a winner in 2020 and 2022.

How about the economy? Crime. Border security (NH has a border with Canada that’s a bit too damn porous). The crime in other states is tied to illegals. Dems soft on crime in other states. The train wreck next door in Blue Vermont (slightly less so after Tuesday). Everything the Left broke while puppeteering Bide around for years. There were some very unhelpful coattails on Kamala Harris, and abortion was the only issue to which she could reasonably speak.

Maybe that’s true for Democrats in general, and someone noticed—a lot of someones.

I guess the question now is, after the failure in 2024, will they try to run on abortion again in 2026 and 2028?

I’m not sure they have anything else.
