Is “The Enemy Within” a figment of the imagination or a constant controversial constitutional issue in American politics? Robert F. Kennedy launched the presidential career of JFK with Senate hearings on Jimmy Hoffa’s labor racketeering and memorialized those hearings in a book entitled “The Enemy Within,” published in 1960.
Prior to RFK’s book, Senator Joseph McCarthy conducted a campaign against Communists in the U.S. State Department during the 1950’s. The U.S. Senate censured McCarthy because he saw “REDS” everywhere. His radicalism overshadowed the accuracy of some of his observations.

In his best-selling book “Six Crises” (Doubleday, 1962), Nixon recounts how the Alger Hiss case “aroused the nation” to the existence and character of the Communist conspiracy in the USA. Nixon exposed Communists in the State Department when Whittaker Chambers, a former State Department employee, and a Communist named Alger Hiss, and others as Communist spies. Chambers had been reporting about Hiss since 1939 but was ignored until exposed by Nixon in the 1950s when Hiss was jailed for treason. Years later, in a bit of historical irony, Nixon, as POTUS, normalized relations with the CCP, promoting détente and hoping to convert Communist China to capitalism.
The federal bureaucracy watergated Nixon and had Oswald assassinate Kennedy. Jack Ruby took out Oswald on live TV as sheriffs surrounded both of them. Dead men tell no tales; just ask Thomas Matthew Crooks. Oh, that’s right, we can’t because he is also dead.
What President Trump uncovered after his surprise election in 2016 was the federal bureaucracy in D.C. is a nest of vipers, taking millions of dollars from the CCP and Russia to conspire with our enemies to undermine American Dominance. Instead of Capitalism overwhelming Communism, as Nixon intended, the CCP deviously took advantage of the greed of American political elites to finance the betrayal of the USA. Two chief beneficiaries of this CCP multi-million bribery scheme are the Biden family and Mitch McConnell. It is no surprise they hate Trump.
