We Just Keep Going Round and Round

by Op-Ed

By Ken Goodall –

I have supported many candidates who spoke their minds, sometimes off the cuff and not thought out, but I knew where they were coming from. Trump said Mexico would pay for the wall but with no explanation, and he said a group would not have to vote again, which could easily be taken out of context by the left and a real sound bite for the leftist media.

I have always struggled with my political position, but the loony leftists and the Religious right-wing nutjobs frustrate me equally.

I know the real meanings need to be taken in context, but far too many on either side don’t see the context. Now we have the right-wing quoting stupid lies and disinformation that do not take much to figure out they are wrong. Fake pictures of Kamala with Epstein get quickly fact-checked by Facebook as they should because they were faked, then the claim of Kamala being a home wrecker when Willie Brown was already estranged from his wife, and the right-wing claims that Tim Walz lied to police, he did not, and that is easily found to be false.

The ignorance on both sides sickens me, and yes, the conservative way is the only way to save our country, but they are not the complete solution. They want to force Christianity onto the country, they want their god in schools but no one else’s, and they want all abortions stopped, even in cases of rape or the health of the mother. They leave me no way to defend their position, and I get accused of hurting the cause of the right.

Neither side is truly in the right, and it makes it difficult to figure out the best way to save the country. Picking a guy who is so vehemently hated by the left is not going to do much to fix the country, but after four years of Biden’s socialism, we certainly don’t need four more years of Kamala. It is truly a quandary.

Then the left defended the last four years as being good years with gas prices still higher than when Biden took office, food prices skyrocketing, and the housing market blowing up with overinflated prices, causing property taxes also to skyrocket and leaving many people unable even to buy a home. Renters can’t afford the inflated rents which landlords need to keep up with higher costs for them. Even with this higher cost of living, finding apartments is almost impossible in New Hampshire, giving the left the claim that this is why we need more affordable housing. A vicious circle.

It seems we just keep going round and round, ending up right back where we started.

At some point, we have to realize that doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results is not the answer, but at this point, the middle ground seems to be completely lost.
