Silly Me …

The Left is always yammering about “Reproductive Healthcare,” which ALWAYS requires Government intervention, even as the baby killers keep saying that only women and doctors should be involved in such a decision to kill a baby.

SideNote: WAIT!  WHAT??  They KNOW they know what a woman is now? What transwoman can deliver a baby; what does a “transwoman C-section” look like? Does it involve removal of a prostate?

So I figured I’d steal it piggyback on that phrase. Actually, the Government IS supposed to stay out of our religions – all of them:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Yet, the State of Oregon, which is a Democrat trifecta and triplex State, seems to have very little concern about the fence that our Bill of Rights wraps around Government in protecting us from it. In fact, they are treating a woman, because of her deeply held faith, as if she was a murderer (sorta). Emphasis mine, reformatted:

Oregon Blocks Mom From Adopting Children Because of Her Christian Faith

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys representing an Oregon mother of five who wishes to adopt siblings from foster care will be available for media interviews following oral arguments Tuesday at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in Bates v. Pakseresht. Jessica Bates is challenging an Oregon Department of Human Services rule that categorically excludes her from adopting any child—no matter their age or beliefs—because she would not violate her religious beliefs to promote Oregon’s radical gender ideology. Bates is asking the 9th Circuit to allow her to obtain her certification, free of discrimination, while her lawsuit continues so that she can eventually provide a loving home to children in need.

As I have learned over this past year, Foster Parents are a scarce resource. Here in NH, there are some teens that are “hoteled” because of a lack of foster homes available to take them in. There just aren’t enough people willing to open their homes to kids that are in need, often because the parents are not able to care for them (and yes, sometimes the kids themselves are out of control).  Even scarcer are those Foster Parents that are willing, and have the housing,  to take siblings in.

But here she is, serving herself up on a silver platter to help kids – but because she is a devout Christian instead of a follower of the seemingly (more and more) State Secular Religion of Transgenderism. ADF Senior Counsel Jonathan Scruggs:

“Jessica is a loving mother who wants to open her home to children in need right now, but Oregon officials are excluding her and countless other families because of their religious beliefs about sexual ethics and the human body. Because these caregivers cannot promote Oregon’s dangerous gender ideology to young kids, the state considers them to be unfit parents. That’s false and harmful, needlessly depriving these kids of opportunities to find a loving home. We are urging the 9th Circuit to remind Oregon that the foster and adoption system is supposed to serve the best interests of children, not the state’s ideological crusade.”

Bates applied to become certified to adopt children from foster care two years ago. Oregon’s DHS, the agency responsible for overseeing the state’s child welfare programs, denied her application because she would not agree to say and do things that conflict with her faith, like lying to children and telling them that girls can be boys and vice versa.

Although Bates told ODHS officials that she would happily love and accept any child placed with her, officials rejected her application, making her ineligible to adopt any child—even infants or children who share her religious beliefs.

Tolerance my arse. The Dems are always preaching it, along with “inclusivity”, until someone comes along that won’t get with their program.

This is a disgrace and why we citizens need the Bill of Rights to protect us from the Trans-Authoritarian bigots that have taken over the Democrat Party and have grasped onto the Levers of Powers as if the Good Lord Almighty had appointed them to be His angels.

Oh wait! No problem with the last bit – Democrats generally don’t believe in God. Which gives us problems because they believe that Rights come from Govt and not God. Govt can be “done on a whim” while God is absolute – and they hate that last bit.
