TAKE ACTION NOW – Unmask NH Student Athletes [Updated]

Sports image petition

Tomorrow, May 13, 2021, the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) has a regularly scheduled Council meeting at 8:30 AM.

The NHIAA has adopted an anti-science universal masking position, encouraging and recommending that even student-athletes cover their nose and mouth during practice and competition (see the individual sport “considerations” on their website). And, of course, all staff, volunteers, and parents are also required to mask, despite all randomized, controlled scientific evidence pointing to the ineffectiveness of masking when it comes to transmission of a virus.

Please Submit Group communications or Press Releases for consideration to
steve@granitegrok.com or skip@granitegrok.com. Submission is not a guarantee of publication.

What can you do?

  1. Email the NHIAA council members TODAY (see update below) and demand that they eliminate their masking policies, especially in regards to children who are in practice and competition. Here are some talking points:
    • There is not nor has there ever been a state mandate that applies to educators, staff, or students OR those doing strenuous physical activity.
    • Face masks are ineffective to block transmission of viral respiratory disease such as COVID19. On the other hand, wearing face masks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects.
    • Transmission is only possible with 15 min of continuous close contact, which does not happen in student sports.
    • A vast majority of transmission (over 80%) has been demonstrated to occur within households, with other situations and venues accounting for no more than 2% of overall transmission. Transmission within sports settings is therefore inconsequential and students, volunteers, and parents should not be subject to ineffective and unnecessary PPE interventions.
    • Children are not vectors for transmission of COVID-19, and ZERO children NH under the age of 18 have died from the disease over the course of the pandemic.
  2. Sign and share the citizen-initiated petition to unmask student-athletes.

[Update]PLEASE NOTE: The link to email NHIAA council members that we included in our previous email doesn’t work for everyone. That’s because of a problem with MailChimp, the mail server we use to send you all of our updates, in the way they format several email addresses. Here are the emails for the NHIAA below, which you can copy and paste into your “To” field, and you may also try this updated link.
