David Gregory: “Where is the US Constitution not placed in the right level today?

“There are some people who say that. That’s a very highly charged thing to say. Where is the US Constitution not placed in the right level today?”

Here is the video:

The longer version of this video is here; the above quote can be found at the 7:13 mark.

As a national level MainStream Media journalist, I am surprised that Gregory even has to ask – not!  Given how few seem to know what it is, how  about this from the Constitution itself, David – the Tenth Amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

There are all kinds of reasons David – why is it within the sphere of the US Senate to formerly get involved in the name of a sports team (e.g., Washington Redskins)?  Why is it the Proper Role of the Federal Government to determine the amount of flush

GrokSHOT! – Gilford School Board decides it is above the normal SB2 Legislative process…

…by which the Gilford School Board develops its budget, submits it to the Budget Committee (which can change that budget), and the budget prepared by the BudCom is presented to the Gilford Taxpayers at the NH SB2 mandated “Public Hearing” so that the townfolk can ask questions about the budget (and hurl invectives if it “offends” them).  The next to last step is the “Deliberative Session” at which time the budget line items can be changed by votes of the townfolk.  The final step in the process is to actually vote, up or down, on the budget in the safety and privacy of the voting booth (to me, a much better time to vote than the traditional Town Meeting format).

Unlike the municipal budget process (in which excess and unspent funds can be carried forward to future years in a “Rainy Day fund”), the School Board is to return all funds not spent to the taxpayers.  THIS School Board, the Gilford School Board, has decided that it is above this process – and more and more over the last few years, decided that it would purchase more goods and services with “end of year excess monies”.  In this case, because they didn’t ask the right questions at the right time, a $65,000 one last nite.  Of COURSE I spoke up:

GrokSHOT! – Gilford School Board codifies the rule that prevents Parents from talking to the School Board

Nothing in this policy shall be construed as giving parents/guardians the right to appeal to the School Board.”

Yup, you read that right (full policy after the jump) – the Gilford School Board had William “Billy” Baer arrested simply because he tried to seek  redress from his elected Gilford School Board elected representatives; he asked questions and they just sat there.  Stonewalled. Period. Refusing to address his concerns.  Making themselves unaccountable to the voters that put their derriers into those seats – the exact opposite of what a representative democracy is all about  (after all, listen again to Gilford School Board member Kurt Webber authoritarian demeanor).  As millions of people watch that video on the Internet, get mentioned in the print media, and widely watched on TV programs, the GSB’s stonewalling silence to engage Mr. Baer has turned them into a laughingstock.  One would think that they would have figured out, perhaps, that this was a “wrong track” event?

Nonsense!  They DOUBLED DOWN and have codified the regulation – if the Principal turns them down, that’s it. The Gilford School Board has codified itself from having to deal with the lowlies called Parents and Taxpayers:

The obligatory “Release of Bergdahl” video

(H/T: CNSNews)

Oh, and those “harmless” Talibani just released into the security of Qatari officials to be highly monitored for a year?  Prison time?  Er, no so much:

A senior Gulf official speaking to Reuters has said the five Guantánamo detainees traded for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl are being kept in an “accommodation facility” and will be allowed to roam freely in Qatar before moving to other parts of the world. The claim undermines President Obama’s claim that they will be monitored.

GrokSHOT! – Gilford School Board’s Kurt Webber bemoans kids get summer vacation

…that ruins kids’ mandatory test scores because of that “education gap”.  Instead, Kurt Webber  wants the Gilford School Board to change from the old style “agrarian” schedule. Er, I beseeched the Board to go way past that – and “progress forward” (heh!) from the “Progressive Factory Educational model (which we have today)! Previous video GrokSHOT! – … Read more

This ad IS about Jeanne Shaheen – from the Concerned Veterans for America (CVA)

“Will Jeanne Shaheen fight for VA accountability?“ Steve has the Club for Growth ad about US Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) here.  I agree; same schtick, same pod, same Koch Brothers money.  But here’s one from the Concerned Veterans of America concerning the ongoing Veterans Administration scandal on how badly they have treated those that put their … Read more

University of Maryland – they be American history scholars, eh?

Heck, after the videos that keep coming my way, I might be overjoyed if I saw “have clues” instead of straight up clueless!  I watched this magnificent display of American history by some of our finest students (er, they ARE in college, right?)  and just cringed.  What’s worse, this doesn’t seem to bother these ‘college attendees” all that … Read more

Do our new West Point military leaders prefer the man of the Left or the man of the [moderate] Right?

Let your ears and eyes be the judge of how our West Point cadets react:    President Obama                                      President Bush Personally, I think that Obama despises the US Military; combining the natural disdain show by the New Left as our military is a sign of US might with that of the hatred of “Western colonialism” … Read more

This Ad Could Be About Jeanne Shaheen

Club For Growth has an awesome ad out on Arkansas Democrat Senator Mark Pryor.  Pryor has taken money from Koch industries and given money to NH Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and they’ve both repeated the lie of the year about ObamaCare, so this ad would work just as well for Shaheen as for Pryor.

Undercover Video – Scott Brown at the GONH Event

Someone has sent undercover video of Scott Brown at the GONH event to JR Hoell.  JR posted it up on YouTube.  And now we have it here. Mr. Brown does not want to be heard going on the record.  He is unwilling to attend debates and is very controlling of media.  He will not come … Read more

NH GOP Annual Meeting – Ruminations: MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough

OK, back to finish some unfinished business (ruminations on Kelly’s speech here; read it to see what I’m trying to accomplish here).  Yeah, we all go to MSNBC all the time just to watch “Morning Joe” with Joe Scarborough – we Conservatives only feel good after our morning tongue lashings from Progressives and others that think we are evil.  And I do hate to break it to you, Joe, but the topic of immigration here in NH during the 2010 election cycle WAS a big deal (thus the yell of “Immigration” when she asked the question, Joe – be careful of what you ask for).  And it STILL is a big deal today as it seems that the national level GOP, along with that bastion of free markets called the US Chamber of Commerce, have joined forces with the Democrats to shaft the lower and middle American classes (the Democrats for more voters, the Chamber for low wage workers, and heaven only knows what the GOP thinks what it’s present is under the Democrat Christmas tree).

“We can’t afford any more moral victories”.  Moral victories.  While he’s all bent out of shape over 2012, he fails to realize that 2010 was given to the GOP on a silver platter

US Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) fires back at Dem US Senators Reid & Schumer

From Hot Air: Senators Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer have taken it upon themselves to single out Rep. Steve King on the floor of the Senate for having the courage to stand for We the People against open borders. As we noted yesterday, the party has refused to defend him, and top NRSC aides are involved in an ad campaign against him. Well, when nobody in the party defends you, a man’s got to do it himself. King took to the House floor to respond to them. You can watch the full clip here.

That’s because the National GOP is showing all the signs to selling out the blue collar (and high tech) American workers by joining with the Democrats in granting Amnesty (look, enough with the “pay a fine, pay back taxes” crap – if illegal aliens are not above stealing American SS #s, how the heck are you REALLY gonna do all that and more?  Do you really think we are all that stupid (yes, this goes to my jr. Senator, Kelly Ayotte, too)?  Our total unemployment rate, U3 and U6 is north of 12% – and you want to legalize and allow in MILLIONS more to compete for jobs at the un- and low skilled jobs?

The GOP has the opening to take away the mantle of

For U.S. Navy Rear Admiral William H. McRaven, it’s the little things that show the Principles at UT Commencement speech

U.S. Navy Rear Admiral William H. McRaven is also the Commander of the US Navy’s SEAL special operator forces.  And a SEAL himself so he knows of what he speaks:

I have been a Navy SEAL for 36 years. But it all began when I left UT for Basic SEAL training in Coronado, California.  Basic SEAL training is six months of long torturous runs in the soft sand, midnight swims in the cold water off San Diego, obstacles courses, unending calisthenics, days without sleep and always being cold, wet and miserable.  It is six months of being constantly harassed by professionally trained warriors who seek to find the weak of mind and body and eliminate them from ever becoming a Navy SEAL.  But, the training also seeks to find those students who can lead in an environment of constant stress, chaos, failure and hardships.

To me basic SEAL training was a life time of challenges crammed into six months.

My personal writing outlook is to take a particular current or political event and bring it back down to a given (or set of given) principles.  After all, it does tend to make things simple (and validates what we say as well).  Lots of other people do the same so it was nice to see how someone else does it:

  • If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.
  • If you want to change the world, find someone to help you paddle.

Here are more of the points; go to BI and read the explanations for each.  Many thanks for your service, sir!

Project Veritas: James O’Keefe shows “Hollywood’s War on U.S. Energy”

CANNES — In a blockbuster new video, Project Veritas has exposed the truth about the dark funding behind Hollywood’s anti-fracking messaging machine.

New York Times Bestselling Author and Project Veritas founder and president James O’Keefe debuted the latest investigation at a “premiere” in Cannes, France on Wednesday.  In the investigation, an undercover journalist from Project Veritas posed as a member of a Middle Eastern oil dynasty and offered $9 million in funding to American filmmakers to fund an anti-fracking movie.  In video from a meeting with Ed Begley Jr., Mariel Hemingway and Josh Tickell, a Project Veritas investigator disguised as “Muhammed” offered $9 million for an anti-fracking film.   Muhammad” clearly states:

“If Washington DC continues fracking, America will be energy efficient, and then they won’t need my oil anymore.”

In the same conversation, Begley and Hemingway accept the funding and agree to hide the source of funds for the anti-fracking movie….In a phone call to Tickell, the ad executive states: “My client’s interest is to end American energy independence; your interest is to end fracking. And you guys understand that?”.  Tickell’s response:

NoBrown / Second Amendment Rally: So, Mitch Kopacz, the Concord Monitor is privileged?

So  Mitch Kopacz, President of Gun Owners of NH, what’s the deal?  You REALLY think that “Pravda on the Merrimack” (aka, the outpost of the liberal MSM called the Concord Monitor) is as supportive of the Second Amendment as GraniteGrok is?  And THEY, the reporter and photographer, were then allowed to breeze past the hotel manager at the front door and saunter right in?  And we were given the bum’s rush?

Now remember, we’ve already seen ONE stricture of “No Cameras / No Recording / No Media” broken by Scott Brown’s own campaign staff.  Now, a couple of videos showing that:

  • CONSERVATIVE media got restricted from entering the Holiday Inn (Concord, NH) and was told to leave the property.
  • LIBERAL media was allowed to walk right into the hotel – right past the “hotel manager” that kicked us off the property.

Again, this was at the behest of both Scott Brown and Gun Owners of NH (“GONH”).  So, first up for video is myself and Rick Olson (a GONH member, by the way) being told that we were persona non grata – and a bit of a back story to it as well…
