The State Supreme court announced that is sees a conflict between current state law and spending cap initiatives approved by voters (Manchester in particular). This is not unexpected but it is fortuitous, and to some degree ironic. There’s something you might want to keep in mind about the state level Democrat wind machine as we move forward toward 2012. It has been their practice to ignore their own out of state campaign dollars as they attack anyone or anything on the Republican side with even the most tenuous connection to influence from outside the state. Even the governor has stood up and declared that he is against the influence of money from outside the state, while hundreds of thousands have poured into his pockets from places farther and wider than the political borders of the Granite State. But that’s all superficial by comparison to this.
How do governor Lynch, Chairman Buckley, presumptive democrat candidates for 2012 at every level, the whole of the democrat party, even their RINO sympathizers, explain why they embrace massive infusions of out of state money and all the disruptive influence it has at the state and local level…from the federal government?

Why Bill O’Brien for Speaker: Reason #3
As promised, I now turn to the third reason—actually a "bundle of reasons"—why the new Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives should be Bill O’Brien.
But first, I must state that it is not my intent to launch a personal attack against Gene Chandler. He was the last "real" Republican Speaker of the House in 2003 and 2004, and is now running for that position again. He led his party honorably in the past, but unfortunately not ably. In addition, he fell victim to what can only charitably be called "glaring mistakes of judgment." Because of those mistakes, he was convicted of political corruption, fined $2,000, sentenced to community service in a court of law, driven out of the race for Speaker of the House in 2004, and in 2005 nearly driven from elective office itself. The result was chaos in the Republican Party, the election of a Democrat-supported turncoat Republican to Speaker of the House in 2006, and the eventual destruction of the Republican majority in 2006.
It is not pleasant to dredge up this past political history, but it is necessary. There is an unprecedentedly large freshman class of state representatives, almost all elected as New Republicans upon their promises to fix the damage wrought upon our state over the past four years of rule by the Democrats. Most of these freshmen Republican representatives—and many other Republicans—are unaware of this history. They are also unaware that it would be extremely unwise to elect Gene Chandler to be Speaker of the House of Representatives. Or why.
Accordingly, and unfortunately, all must be explained….

First of all, those are not MY words– it happens to have been the topic of an absolutely enthralling intellectual debate I had the privilege of attending last week at the Thomas Moore Liberal Arts College here in NH.
As announced over at the Jihad Watch blog, The Edmund Campion Debate Society presented its third debate of the academic year 2010-11 between two keynote speakers: Robert Spencer, Director, Jihad Watch & Professor Peter Kreeft of Boston College On the topic:
Resolved: That the Only Good Muslim is a Bad Muslim.
Speaking in the affirmative will be Mr. Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, frequent guest on Fox News, ABC, BBC, and many other media, and author of nine books on Islam, including NY Times bestsellers The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad. Spencer will contend that orthodox Islam is intrinsically intolerant of other faiths and incompatible with a free society, such that when individual Muslims grow secularized and less observant, they may become less of a danger to free societies.
Speaking in the negative will be Prof. Peter Kreeft of the philosophy department at Boston College, author of more than 45 books, including the recently released Between Allah and Jesus: What Christians Can Learn from Muslims. One of Mr. Spencer’s former teachers, Prof. Kreeft will argue that Catholics and Muslims belong to sister, Abrahamic faiths, and should cooperate to resist the secularization and moral decay that prevail in the postmodern, post-Christian West.
Now, I could sit here and pen an extended piece about what I heard and learned, which, basically, is yes, from the point of view of a citizen of our Constitutional Republic, indeed, the only good Muslim is a bad Muslim. Because, the more strictly a devout member of the Islam religion sticks to its basic tenets, the WORSE it becomes for us, the infidels, or, as they put it, "the people of the book."

Does my generation play a role in America’s future?

Taking All The ‘Air’ Out Of “Fair”
The Nashua Telegraph spent most of the election season giving up huge chunks of their Sunday commentary page to the mouth-pieces of special interests promoting left wing causes like health care deform, so why stop now that the election has passed? This week we get the implausible assumptions of Cathy Silber, the coordinator of the Granite State Fair Tax Coalition (GSFTC), who upon seeing the blood in the water on November 3rd, has attempted a preemptive strike for her pet special interest project–an income tax for New Hampshire.
Silber has been fighting "The Pledge," an oath signed by Granite State candidates who promise to vote against any sales or income tax should they meet that big bad wolf tax on the way to Grandmothers house, or anywhere else. So Silber is the "Anti-pledger," plying class warfare rhetoric dressed as "fairness" in her quest to drag New Hampshire down the broad based tax rabbit hole, with the lie that it would take pressure off property taxes and create a more fair redistribution of wealth…oops I mean a more fair distribution of the tax burden. Wait. I had it right the first time.
What, you don’t think GSFTC is seeking the redistribution of wealth?
Take a look at who is in the "fair tax" coalition. Union heavyweights; the NEA-NH, SEIU-1984(NH), and the NH State Employees Association, our state government employees union. Who else? How about a slew of social justice groups like the Unitarian Universalist’s and the NH Council of Churches, anti gun, pro-global warming, supporting redistribution of wealth, all left wing causes aided in their minds by a new broad based tax.

From Concord, NH to Washington, DC a new political age is dawning. The Tea Party movement has made it clear that the old, corrupt way of "politics as usual" will no longer be tolerated.
