A recent letter from UNH President Mark W. Huddleston, emailed to persons associated with UNH, appears to be asking recipients to pressure (maybe engage and encourage is a better term) the New Hampshire legislature into restoring budget cuts made last session to the University system.
I have no issue with “Huddleston the activist” doing that on his own time, but Politicking on State University Letterhead?
That’s a no no.

The uber-left-wing group Democracy Now is claiming that “some” primary voters were turned away in New Hampshire on Tuesday because they did not have photo ID. Democracy Now blames “confusion over the new law” as the culprit. I’d be more inclined to suggest that this is a load of crap.
Who was turned away? When? Where? Democrats across the state of New Hampshire had pre-organized poll watchers to observe and (hopefully) record exactly that problem…so where is the video? Where are the interviews? Who are these “voters,” and why were they not simply referred to the moderator or supervisor of the checklist to clear it up, or to just sign an affidavit declaring domicile in the event that anyone forgot their ID. The law includes that provision. The idea that no one in any of the “so-called” polling stations where voters were “supposedly turned away” didn’t know this is absurd.
I can only guess that Democracy Now didn’t know about this or did’t care. They have nothing but that doesn’t matter becasue this is probably just messaging support for the ACLU & League of Women Vote Stealers ignorant effort to get the law suspended for November.
Today White House Press Secretary Jay Carney declared that the embassy protests, firebombs, assassinations and all out mayhem is in response to a video and not at all “… directed at the United States, writ large, or at U.S. policy.” (h/t mediate)

President Obama, who promised to pursue gun control under the radar, has fulfilled that promise.
Obama has expanded civil-forfeiture rules making it permissible for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to seize weapons from citizens without the hassle of due process.
This effectively gives Attorney General Eric Holder, of Fast and Furious fame, extended power over guns and gun-related property.
As Mr. Obama rides cross country attending more fundraisers and campaign events than any president in history (historic presidency indeed; historic campaigning, historic debt, historic deficits, historic unemployment; historic number of people on food stamps…yadda yadda yadda..) he still seems to be finding time for Golf. Jeffy Katzenberg bundles 6.6 Million for Campaign Obama and, coincidentally, manages to get a meeting with the Communist Chinese Vice President, after which Katzenberg is allowed to build a Studio in China. But it gets better. Apparently Obama is not the only socialist whose pockets he is lining. The SEC is investigating whether Katzenberg may have bribed communist officials to ease the process of getting his new DreamWorks studio built in Shanghai.
Bribing is not uncommon in Communist China. but isn’t this off-shoring? Is there a shortage of US officials Katzenberg could bribe aside from Obama? And why is he building a huge studio in China? California too expensive?
Like I said here, the Mainstream Media always picks side in the political battles and will pretty much sink to the occasion of “fair and balanced” when spinning what should be straight news. The graphic is right: In LIBYA for gosh sakes, where they just fought a major civil war and things STILL haven’t calmed down, there was no Marine contingent to protect US officials ON US SOVEREIGN SOIL? What first seemed to be a “protest” has turned out to be planned, coordinated Al Qaeda operation over multiple locations?
You know, why is the MSM so taken with what ended up with an accurate portrayal of actual events by Romney and NOT what is important – why was this missed, why weren’t adequate steps taken for contingency planning (if this happens, do this; if that, do plan B – you know, doing some rudimentary “planning?), where was the intel lapse, why was Obama skipping out on his intel meetings, and so on?
Instead of substance, it was ‘surface” – it has all been a cover for Obama via “attack the messenger”? This is not just a #FAIL for the Obama Doctrine and his Administration, but for the MSM for not just doing basic journalism – instead, they go all “opinion” on Romney’s butt as if this was all his fault.
And they are happy to fix that situation….and in fact, demand that they be allowed to meddle in our lives. After all:
Democrat NH House Rep. Kris Roberts of Keene uttered on the floor of Representative Hall these fine words concerning Government and his fellow citizens:
“Government has to protect us from our own stupidity.”
Many of the delegates at the recently completed Democrat National Convention agreed with this – they have no problem believing that people have the freedom to choose for themselves but only if they make the right decisions:

Todays Edition of the Union Leader treated us to the pithy headline, Fairways Firing Ranges dont mix in Londonderry. Interestingly enough, UL Correspondent April Guilmet, never contacted me for comment or input. She did today after the story was written and posted.

Council Chariman John Farrell (not the John Farrell of Country Pond Fish & Game) granted Londonderry Country Club Owner Tom Kimball his wish for the Council to hold a council meeting at the Golf Club. The purpose of which is that the council can hear the gunfire from the Londonderry Police Range..er, the Londonderry Fish and Game Club..wait? which is it, Tom? Ah! both.
When the 3am calls came in, Obama skips his intel briefing AND went to go collect more campaign dollars – Vegas, baby! Governing – why? RUNNING for an office is so much more fun than dealing with, well, the real aftermath of my policies… (H/T: IBD)

We’ve kinda left the Chicago Teacher strike alone thus far. To be sure, I think it is rather emblematic of the Blue Social model – large public unions pulling more and more from the taxpayers via in-the-Union-Pocket elected officials.
In this case, we have the CTU members earning an average wage of approximately $71-76K / year where the average taxpayer earns around $46K / year. The union has rejected a 16% raise by Rahm Emmanual, Obama’s former Chief of Staff and now Mayor of Chicago. What the Union is NOT accepting is the whole notion of teacher evaluations and other reforms.

Maggie ‘But Gurl’ Hassan is a NH Democrat, a tax and spender. She always has been. And her taking the tax pledge is no barrier to that.
