Still thinking about expanding Medicaid In New Hampshire?  Or maybe you are just indifferent.  Well you can’t afford to be.

The bait expires and the annual stipend is not guaranteed.  In fact, given the Federal debt and deficit situation, any expectation that the Feds will not cut funding to Medicaid and other programs as debt and deficit management become critical are simply fanciful.

Paying only 10% of the expansion costs after the expansion bait-money is gone will already extract millions from the state economy.   But that will pale in comparison to the state’s assault on town and city budgets when it goes looking for money to feed this beast after the feds bail on us.

Fraud supporting Nashua Democrat Cindy Rosenwald has submitted the Medicaid expansion amendment to avoid having to holding public hearings or any actual legislative discussion about a multi-billion dollar entitlement expansion in New Hampshire.

Nashua Rep Cindy Rosenwald.  You remember her?  She’s the Democrat who let the cat out of the bag regarding that $802 million dollar hole the Democrats left in the budget with one time money.  After months of every Democrat denying it, she tells us the truth.

The Democratic majority knew all along it (the 802 Million dollar hole) would not continue, and that budget cuts would have to be made during the following biennium so that there would not be a deficit.

Rosenwald and the NH Dems went nuts when Republicans did exactly what Rosenwald claims Democrats knew they would have to do.

Warming creates warming. Warming creates cooling. NH Democrat Timmy Horrigan informed us (in comments)  that Global Warming Theory predicts more snow (which will come as a surprise to Senator Jeanne Shaheen). And now we’ve got this newly imagined polar vortex thing to explain the cold temperatures that none of those computer models from all those well-funded activists experts, ever predicted.

And another big unexpected side-effect of global warming? Plenty of living space for those polar bears. We’ve got more ice on the poles (both of them, in summer no less) than we can shake an endangered species at. (Any day now we’ll start hearing about how too much habitat will be devastating to the Polar bear Population.  Mark my words, it’s coming.)

And of course, it hasn’t warmed in 16 years, ancient times compared to Climate scientist Jeanne Shaheen’s catastrophic predictions for New Hampshire circa 2008.

Yet another sad story on the results of Obamacare on families.  Somewhere in here, I did a post where a single mom (grown daughter) had to buy a new policy as Obama & Sebelius decided that the healthcare policy that the Mom had was “junk”.  No, this Mom was not judged capable of picking a plan that was suitable and affordable for her – Progressives are convinced that none of us can choose wisely.  She wanted to continue to be self-responsible and self-supporting and in doing so, continue that self-esteem that “I can be independent, pay my own way, and be self-reliant”.  Obama & Sebelius’s policies decided otherwise – their “socialist Potemkin marketplace” immediately clapped her into the Government jail of Medicaid – one way in and no way out.  They took away her self-esteem by telling her that they know that she can no longer support herself and gave her only their option – Government healthcare.

Now, another story.  I’ve been writing for years about the school systems / teachers / Govt believing that your kids really do belong to them: feed them 3 squares a day in school (even when schools are closed), clothe them, provide daycare for them in school, provide healthcare clinics for them in school, and take them out of school for abortions if they feel one is needed.   Now on the flip side, the Obama Administration has jiggered the rules so that parents that want to take care of their kids and provide for their kids healthcare wise, can’t.  So these parents must “give up” their kids to the government (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Zack thought he was going to have to pay several hundred dollars more a month for roughly the same level of coverage for him and his wife, before you even factored in the kids. They didn’t have the money for it.

Just a few days after Christmas, more than one million of our fellow Americans lost a vital economic lifeline – the temporary insurance that helps folks make ends meet while they look for a job. Republicans in Congress went home for the holidays and let that lifeline expire. And for many of their constituents who are unemployed through no fault of their own, that decision will leave them with no income at all.

This would be just more political gas except for one thing: “Fine for me but not for thee”.  I snicker with irony that these were words spoken from Washington, DC Hawaii while the President is on vacation himself – a rather expensive one to boo.  These are the words spoken either by the ironically clueless, the political tone-deaf, or from someone that doesn’t give a darn.

Sidenote: after 5 years, we have no one to blame except for him and the Democrats from the poor results of their economic policies.  So if Obama is making the pitch for yet again for an extension, isn’t that a self-indictment of his own failure?

Let’s get this straight – I didn’t make a promise to anyone about this and I bet you didn’t either.  Sure, I have a promise in my wedding vows to take care of my wife – and then, to my family.  Yes, I will help my friends – there is that implicit bond between friends to do just that.  But to make explicit promises to unknown people?  Hardly.

No, I see this utterance as being part & parcel of the Progressive “The political is personal, the personal is political“.

New Hampshire voters are slowly becoming aware of how many professional campaign transients descend on our state every election cycle. They come to our state as part of a political campaign, often stay in the private homes of elected officials or activists in NH, and many steal a NH vote from you while they are here.

Recently, Granite Grok, Girard at Large, and The Coalition of NH Taxpayers have been exposing Hilltop Public Solutions, who we stumbled onto after finding two of their principals voting in Manchester in 2012 while they were here doing in NH what Hilltop Public Solutions does everywhere else they go.

If you go to the site mentioned above and try and follow the trail of cleverly named “public interest groups” who spend millions in campaign ads out of two person offices without ever getting the credit they are due you may get lost.

That is about to change for the 2014 election cycle here in NH.

Rolling Stone – the aging paper of record for the 60s hipsters.  Now it  is advising the Millennials the generation already more narcissistic than the Boomers, by dint of the “self-esteem” movement in the culture and education, that they deserve more.  In fact, much more – not only should the obligatory “I merely attended my soccer team” gold statue but reforms that would have brought a smile to FDR (at the least – see his Second Bill of Rights) if not to Marx.  After all, it’s not YOUR fault that the “economy blows” – it’s somebody else’s fault and THEY are the ones that should be responsible for supporting you (i.e., nothing less than the stratagem of the furthering of the infantilizing of America.  It also shows a complete disdain to open up a history book to see how these five doozies have worked in reality.  So here is the premise:

Millennials have been especially hard-hit by the downturn, which is probably why so many people in this generation (like myself) regard capitalism with a level of suspicion that would have been unthinkable a decade ago. But that egalitarian impulse isn’t often accompanied by concrete proposals about how to get out of this catastrophe. Here are a few things we might want to start fighting for, pronto, if we want to grow old in a just, fair society, rather than the economic hellhole our parents have handed us.

Boo-hoo! First blamed – Parents (who still have to put up with you in our basements).  Now, the real problem is that set up by other P-word entities, like Progressive Politicians, and their Progressive Policies (“hey rube, we know better than you do what is best for you!”.  We haven’t seen truly free markets for almost 100 years – I would propose that the late 1890s was the start of true Government dismantling of laissez-faire private sector where private actors were able to make contracts for themselves and determine, for themselves, the conditions under which employment was offered, employment accepted, and trading between producers and consumers happened.  But the author’s premise is that a just and fair society must be managed and controlled by some outside entity?  And this can only happen when another P-word, Politics, gets involved.  And Politics is always to be judged as fair and just?  We all know THAT premise is silly and unfactual

Another Police Department has made its own extra-legal rules for issuance of the New Hampshire Pistol and Revolver License.

As recently as December 27, 2013 a citizen submitted his (or her) application (dssp85) to the Hampton New Hampshire Police Department to obtain a New Hampshire Pistol revolver license. In addition to the application the Hampton Police  gave this form to the applicant. The Hampton Police will not process any application without the required photocopies attached. The problem: its not legal.

When Democrats say they are ‘Pro-Choice’ what they mean is defending a woman’s “right” to have an abortion.  That’s the choice.

They have no interest in funding abstinence programs, so sex seems inevitable.  Sex, no matter how much taxpayer funded contraception you provide, will always result in more unwanted or accidental pregnancies than not having sex.   And while these “mothers” could consider the adoption option this is not seriously considered as a choice when the word choice is exercised by Democrats.  That leaves abortion or motherhood but is motherhood really a choice?

I concede that I have a pre-conceived notion about the Democrats Orwellian redefinition of the word ‘choice.’  I am also willing to entertain the idea that my “notion” might be ill conceived.  All New Hampshire Democrats would need do is to prove  that a woman’s right to choose to have her baby is worthy of the same legal protection as the so-called right to abortion that they demand.

As it turns out, the 2014 New Hampshire legislative session will give them a chance to prove me wrong.

I know when I see genius word-smithing and big money Democrat Party Chairman Ray Buckley has delivered again. This is why Buckley is paid big money by the Democrat Party.

Part of being a successful party chairman and getting paid the big money is being able to write a press release that subtly gets the point across to very intelligent readers. Even if it costs big money to have an expert come up with the carefully crafted text it is worth it – big money or not.

Big Money Buckley has been so adept at avoiding criticism for being paid big money for his job as big money chairman that hardly anyone knows how much Democrat money has been pealed off the top the big money donations to pay Big Money Buckley his big money.

Well, four seems to be the perfect number of one and two sentence paragraphs in a genius press release. I can certainly tell a Hilltop Public Solutions press release form a Big Money Buckley press release – and true genius.

Former “long time anti-gunner” and current Detroit Police Chief James Craig, is saying things that will not be well received by the professional left.

“Coming from California (Craig was on the Los Angeles police force for 28 years), where it takes an act of Congress to get a concealed weapon permit, I got to Maine, where they give out lots of CCWs (carrying concealed weapon permits), and I had a stack of CCW permits I was denying; that was my orientation.

“I changed my orientation real quick. Maine is one of the safest places in America. Clearly, suspects knew that good Americans were armed.”

From whom do our Rights come from, God (or the Deity or Nature’s God) or those running Government?

The Framers of our Constitutional Republic reverently assumed the former along with the belief that if God has granted us our Rights, no man or assemblage of men can (or of more importance, should) revoke those Rights in their names alone.  Thus we are Free for there are boundaries in which our government must not cross.  If it is the former, then there are no Rights at all – merely “grants” from an all too ordinary Government from time to time.  And if that is so, we are not Free, for there is no boundaries at all, as Government (and the power greedy politicians and bureaucrats embedded in it) can arbitrarily to give at one point and then take away at another.
